Meet the Teacher

I'm home sick today with Reagan, so thought I would take some time to catch up on blogging! I saw a lot of my teacher/blogger friends doing this "Meet The Teacher" blog so I thought I would join in!

Meet The Teacher

I am a 29 year old wife, mother, and teacher of 6 years. I have lived in Arizona all of my life. I went to Arizona State University and graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education. At ASU I met my husband Nick (he was president of his fraternity and I was president of my sorority). This March will be our 5 year wedding anniversary. We have a 22 month old son Reagan. I never thought I would have a son (such a girly girl) but I am sooo in the world of Buzz and Woody, football, Elmo, and trains! Who would have thought? These two boys are the loves of my life!

After graduating in December of 2004, I subbed for a semester. I subbed pretty regularly at one school. I interview one afternoon after subbing and the principal offered me a kinder of first grade position. I really hit it off with the first grade team, so I accepted that position. I have been teaching first grade at this same school ever since. This is my sixth year in the same classroom, same school. I have become great friends with the girls I work with. I LOVE IT! A year ago I finished my Masters in Elem. Ed and got my reading endorsement.

Now for the Q & A

Q: What would you be doing if you weren’t a teacher?
If I wasn't a teacher and could afford to, I would ideally be a stay at home mommy.
Q: What are your hobbies?A: I love to read, read blogs, do crafts and take pictures!
Q: When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?A: I have always wanted to be a teacher or a tv show host. haha

Q: What are your guilty pleasures?A: reality tv (pretty much all of it!), sweets, jammie days, gossip mags
Q: What is your biggest fear?!A: Birds. I hate them!

Q: When you’re on vacation, where do you like to go?A: Somewhere tropical. A warm, sandy beach sounds perfect right about now... I also cant wait to take Reagan to Disneyland!

Q: What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?A: God doesnt require that you succeed at everything, but simply try. I tend to be an overachiever , so this is a constant . Be yourself. Enjoy the little things.

Q: What do you value most in others?A: Honesty, kindness, sense of humor.

Q: If you could choose one of your personality traits to pass down to your kids, what would it be?A: Sense of humor!

Q: If you could have lunch with anyone in the world….living or dead…who would it be?A: hmm thats a toughie! I would love to have lunch with Reese W. and Sandra B.
Now tell us one random thing about yourself:I tried out / interviewed for the Real World. Yikes. What else? I still sleep with my baby blankie. Haha

Feel better! Being sick stinks! Ditto on the Reece W. I'd love to ask her how she keeps herself always looking so great...I just keep telling myself that I would too, should I have my own make-up artist. ;-)
