Our Valentines Day 2013

I hope you all had a fantastic Valentines Day.
I've loved looking through all your photos.
Dang, your babies are all so beautiful - especially in their Valentine clothes!

Here are a couple other Valentine outfit pics of my sweethearts from earlier in the week:

Our Valentines Day was pretty uneventful.
Nick worked, Reagan went to school, and the babies and I hung out at home.

But we celebrated as a family together that night.

I decorated our bedroom door and Reagan's bedroom door that day to surprise them that evening.
They were both "heart attacked"!

Nick was pretty tired from work and didn't get too big of a kick out of it.
Eh, husbands.

But Reagan was overjoyed and reminded me that this was the reason I do these things.
His happiness gives me such joy!

I had also decorated the table with goodies that had come in the mail and been delivered for our little ones for Valentines Day. My family and friends are so thoughtful.

Thanks to Aunt Meg for the toys and coloring goodies for the kids.
Thanks to Mimi for the new books and cupcakes.
Thanks to Grammy Sylvia for the cards.
Thanks to Great Grammy Sylvia for the cards.
Thanks to Jaime for the card and headbands for Harper!

I got each of the kids a little bag with some Valentine goodies as well.

Reagan was over the moon!

Nick and I agreed to not get anything for one another other than cards this year.
I'm not going to lie- I was a little bummed I didn't even get flowers, but I guess he took our rules seriously. I think this is the first Valentines Day since we've been together that he didn't get me flowers!

After we opened up presents and cards we had a fun little dinner.

We had heart shaped pancakes with all the toppings and pink, strawberry milk- yum!

We had delicious cupcakes from Gigi's for dessert.
Oh my word.
Heavenly.

The night ended with lots of kisses and cuddles with our sweet kids.

Happy Valentines Day!

Valentines Day Fun Around Our House

We have been getting into the Valentine spirit around our house!

I've turned our entry table into a little holiday table and while it might be a little over kill to some, it makes Reagan and my heart happy.

Here is what I did for Valentines Day.

I got a few little decorations at Target.
I printed out the ABC printable here.
I printed out the Be Mine banner here.

Reagan loves a good countdown.
So I figured we'd do one to countdown until Valentines Day.

I knew I wanted to do a Valentines canvas but I had a terrible time deciding what to do!
I ended up doing the babies' footprints and Reagan's hand prints and making them into hearts.
And I wrote one of my favorite lyrics "All because two people fell in love".
I felt like it was totally appropriate.

We baked some Valentine sugar cookies.
Reagan had a great time using Valentine cookie cutters.

But his favorite part was frosting them.
Holy smokes.
This kid frosted a total of 2 and ate half of the tub!

I told him that I was a "frosting machine" and that he needed to pick up the pace.
To which he responded, "That's good. Cause I'm a licking machine."
Little stinker.

Proof!
He had frosting in every nook and cranny.
Like really.
Who gets frosting in their eye lashes?!

Our finished cookies.
Seriously.
Every holiday we try to make cookies with cookie cutters and every holiday they totally STINK!
These are supposed to be hearts, lips, and cupids.

I give up.

We have made some goodies to mail to Reagan's grandparents.

For Reagan's Grammy, Grandpa Bill, Grandpa Bruce and Grandma Lisa he made them a "Valentine hug" .  We got the idea from here.

Idea from here

And for Reagan's Mimi and Papa he made a Valentine owl.

We've had a lot of fun looking forward to Valentines Day at our house.
What fun things have you been up to?

My Little Valentine Through the Years

With Valentines Day approaching, I thought it would be fun to take a look back at my little Valentine through the years. It is crazy to see how much he has grown!

 Reagan's first Valentines Day.
He was 10 months old.

\
We went to brunch with my family and then came home to open some gifts.

Cupid is my homeboy!

 Reagan's 2nd Valentines Day.
He was 1 1/2 years old.
He went to school and had a little party there.

He had fun opening his Valentines from school.

 Last Valentines Day.
Reagan was 2 1/2 years old.
Again, he had a party at school and loved getting goodies from his friends.

He was so excited to get a card from his Grammy and special presents from his Mimi that night!

Valentines Day 2012

Phew. I feel like I'm still recovering from all the Valentines Day festivities!

I guess it all started on Friday. Reagan's school had a Valentine craft evening. It was fun to sit with him and his friends and do lovey-dovey crafts. Saturday I attended my friend Sarah's annual Valentine cookie decorating party.  I was pretty lazy and bought pre-made sugar cookies from Walmart. (Who knew you could buy them that way?) It was fun to be "creative" for a minute. But more fun to catch up with friends.

Valentines Day was a crazy day in first grade!

My awesome teammates and I rotated classes throughout the day.

In Cori's class the kids decorate bags to hold their valentines.

In Lisa's class they sorted and graphed conversation hearts.

In Kate's class they made Valentine hats.

And in my class we decorated cookies. (Boy did my class smell of sugar!)

After all the rotations we had our class party and the kids loved reading their valentines and enjoying their goodies.  I'm sure they were suger-ed out big time that night!

I always get some pretty "spectacular" Valentines gifts from my students each year. Something about the holiday brings out the crazy in these families. Here are some of gifts of love I got. Is  it bad I saw some random moms and kids at Target this weekend really struggling with what to get their teacher. I straight up told them don't waste their money on these candy hearts and dinky things. I don't know about you guys, but I would much rather have small gift card or class supplies!

Reagan had a fun day at school exchanging valentines with his friends and having a party.
Reagan got goodies from his Mimi and Papa and cards from his Grandma and Great Grandma.
He got new Valentines books and some other goodies from Nick and I.
I made Nick one of these write on prints- thank you Pinterest!
And Nick got me some pretty flowers.

I hope you guys had a day and feel very loved!
