It's the most wonderful time of the year.....

And I am so excited! Our tree is up and the white lights are on.

We added some new things to our holiday decor this year including a Polar Express train under the tree. (Not sure if it is more for me or for Reagan!)

I was also thrilled to hang up the new PB stockings I ordered with our names on them.

We took Reagan on his first trip to Zoolights this weekend. He loved looking at the lights- especially the trees that lit up to music. He was talking the whole time and clapped throughout. Nick and I were laughing so hard. I wish I would have taken audio on my phone to post for you all.
Looking forward to more wonderful firsts with Reagan this holiday season!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Hope you all had a wonderful day celebrating with your loved ones.
I know that we did. :)

We had a busy day spent with family. My mom did a wonderful job preparing a feast for our clan and even tried a new set-up for dinner (the garage!) With our family getting so large there just isn't enough room at the dining room table.... so she moved out all the cars and set up the perfect dining area in the garage. Dinner was full of great food, wine, and laughter. Mom made a question game that kept us guessing, laughing, and even crying.

After lunch with my family we headed south to Nick's mom's house for dessert. She got some good Reagan time and we got some of her good pumpkin pie.

Aside from me having some not-fun reaction to my antibiotics... it was a very nice Thanksgiving. Thank you to those of you who took care of me throughout the day.
(Just another story to laugh about at Thanksgiving celebrations in the future!)

I am very grateful for all I have in my life.
But especially for my boys.

It's Not Crooked, It's Tilted

So, in preparation for the holiday season, I ordered a package from Oriental Trading.

Soon after I placed my order I receive an email telling me that the ornaments were on backworder and I would be refunded for that part. No biggie.
Today, I turn the corner to my house and see a box by my front door... like a kid on Christmas I immediately drop what I was doing and open up the box to find the following :

What on earth?

Along with the other couple of items I purchased, they have decided to pack me this awesome Santa fedora. There was a note saying they apologized for not having my item in stock but hoped this would make up for it. Most definately!

Clearly Reagan and I had to have a photo shoot.

Ugly Christmas sweater party anyone?

Sunday Funday Indeed

What a wonderful Sunday we had with my family.

Family Christmas Card Photo-shoot

Meg, Shaun, Joc, Ryan, Sadie, Sawyer, Nick, Reagan, and I all went over to my parents for lunch and football. It's always so fun to all get together and laugh, play, and eat. Mom ordered some good BBQ and fixing plus we had incredible Ea clears from a friend of her at church.
Sawyer, Sadie, and Meg coloring on the quilt.

Nick watching some football on Dad's new flatscreen.

Dad just got a new flat screen installed on the outside patio- so the guys all watched football while the kids and women played out on the putting green. (Although I must say I snuck off for awhile to my old bedroom for a good nap!)

Good wins for the Cards and the Pack, good grub, and good memories with my family.
I heart us!

Grandaddy

Last night my Grandaddy took his last breath. I will remember family lunches at Jordan's and his love for their hot sauce, his love for newsboy hats, his red holiday ensemble, his poodle Candy, his little patio full of the most random items, his stories about Geronimo, him dancing at our wedding, him falling asleep in the arm chair after holiday meals, his love for watching sports on TV, but most of all..... how he became friends with everyone he met.

He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

I put the PRO in procrastination

Ahh! I have less than one month until I graduate with my Masters... you would think I would spend my evenings trying to finish up my coursework... but no. I decide to create a blog, start 2 new books, and try to clear out my dvr. I just started The Gift by Cecilia Ahern (one of my faves!) and Becoming Babywise 5mo.-12mo.
Is anyone reading anything else good? I'd love to add to my list!

I'm also super excited to have caught up on my Brothers and Sisters and Nip/Tuck episodes! I've done pretty well with my dvr....but still have quite a few SYTYCD episodes.. but I cant quite get into it this season. Anyone else? Some reason reality tv has been hard for me this year- my old standbys just dont keep me interested anymore (Amazing race, Americas next top model, etc.)
Alright, enough for tonight... time to get to work! (Who am I kidding?!?)
