Our Mother's Day Weekend and TTT

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day!
I had a great weekend filled with those I love most!

Saturday

Saturday morning I woke up with the birds to help my parents with a garage sale.  It was totally last minute but thought I'd try to sell some of the random baby things I didn't need anymore.  It was a disaster of a sale -- hardly any customers and nobody was interested in baby goods. Oh well! I had a nice visit with my parents and Reagan loved playing in the yard.

Then I had a bridal shower for my friend Alicia.  It was a sweet little shower hosted by our friends Sarah and Lisa.  Alicia had flown into town and I was happy to shower her with love.  I won't be able to make it to her wedding in Colorado next month so I was so excited to spend some time with her.

That afternoon was spent running errands and spending time at home.

Sunday

I woke up and was treated with some cinnamon rolls for breakfast while I pumped. (Ha ha- the life of a mother, right?) Then we got everyone ready for church and made it to church almost on time. I swear. We seem to be about 5 minutes late to church every single Sunday. One of these days we will make it before it begins!  We enjoyed a nice service with my parents and my sister and family and then headed our own ways.

When we got home we tried to take some pictures with me and the kids. It is so hard to get a pic with all 3 kids looking at the camera and smiling!  But I thought they turned out pretty cute non the less.

Reagan really wanted to surprise me with a picnic lunch in the park but I vetoed that decision- it was just way too hot for that.  It was almost 100 degrees at that point and I knew the babies and myself would not think it was very enjoyable!  So we improvised and had a picnic lunch of KFC in front of Peter Pan.

Then the boys let me go to bed and take a nap! They know food and sleep is the way to my heart!

After the nap I got up and played with Reagan while the babies napped.  Then we got ready and headed out to dinner with my family.  Our neighborhood Mexican spot has been our go-to for years and it's pretty fun because they know us all and have seen us all "grow up".  It was a pretty wild and crazy dinner with the 4 kids but it was delicious and fun to spend time laughing together.

Reagan gave me some flowers for Mother's Day and some goodies he made at school.

The boys also got me some new charms for my Pandora bracelet.
It was a great day!

Don't forget to link up with your littles for TTT!

You all know how I love matching my crew, so obviously Mother's Day was no exception!
I found these matching pink shirts and Harper's dress at Carter's.  The boy's khaki pants were from Children's Place.

My Mother's Days in the Past

I can not believe this will be my 5th Mother's Day.

Being a mother is my greatest blessing and accomplishment.

I thought this weekend it would be fun to look back at my past Mother's Days.
Enjoy!

May 2009
My First Mother's Day

Reagan was 1 month old.
Being a mom was still so new to me.

I remember we took my mom out to lunch at Grimaldi's in downtown Scottsdale and then went back to their house to hang out that afternoon.  I just loved on my new baby boy and still couldn't believe he was finally in my arms!

Nick got me a Tiffany's bracelet with Reagan's name and birth date engraved on it.
I still wear that bracelet every day so that Reagan is always "with me".

May 2010

We had just moved into our new house and had just gotten over the flu (all 3 of us).  It was horrible.  But we wanted to have a special Mother's Day non the less.

Reagan was dedicated at church that morning.

After church we had my family over for a Mother's Day brunch.
My sister and made a really delicious spread and we had a great time eating and playing games.

I honestly can't remember if I got anything gift-wise that year!
But Reagan did make me this cute picture at day-care.

May 2011

Nick and Reagan woke me up for breakfast in bed before we headed off to church.

After church we took my mom out to lunch at Bamboo Club and then came home to veg out for the rest of the day.

Reagan made me this little bouquet at day care for Mother's Day as well.

May 2012

Last year I was 18 weeks pregnant on Mother's Day with the twins.
We went to church in the morning and watched as my niece Charlotte was dedicated.

After church Nick sent me out to get a pedicure which was heavenly.
We then took my mom out to lunch with the family.

Nick and Reagan got me two new charms for my Pandora bracelet.

I hope all of you mothers have a WONDERFUL Mother's Day and know just how special you are in the lives of your children.

Mother's Day in our Classroom 2012

This past Friday our First Graders hosted their moms for our annual Mother's Day Program.

My class had been making gifts during the week and practicing songs and poems to honor their mothers.

Here are some of the things they made:

(1)
Hand print flower cards with a sweet poem

(2)
A book about their moms
The pages were pretty hilarious like
" My mom weighs _____ pounds." "My mom is _____ years old."
The moms were laughing out loud at the answers!

(3)
Portraits of their Mothers
And the Top Ten Reasons they love their mom

At 10:15 the moms started arriving to our classroom.
We had an art project set up for each child to work with their mom on.

We had them make Popsicle stick frames and I walked around taking pictures of each first grader and the mother to put inside the frame. They turned out pretty cute!

Next the kids got into their places on the carpet and we began our program.
About 7 years ago I found a bunch of Mother's Day songs and poems and turned them into a little program.  The kids really get into the songs and poems- so cute!

After the program everyone ate some delicious breakfast foods and socialized.

My students were really sweet and brought me presents and flowers for Mother's Day.

It was a special day and I know the students and moms appreciated it!

Mother's Day 2012

Happy Mother's Day!
I hope you have each had a day feeling blessed and loved!

Today was a great day.
I woke up to Reagan and Nick bringing me breakfast to bed along with sweet cards and some new charms for my Pandora bracelet. Then it was time to get ready for church.

It was a special service because my sweet niece was being dedicated.

After church we took a few pictures outside.

I can't believe this is my 4th Mother's Day!
And my last one as just a mommy of 1 kid!

After church we made a Costco run, had some lunch, and then I got a long over due pedicure.
I then came home and read and took a nap. Lovely.

I woke up in just enough time to meet my family for dinner at our local Mexican food place that we visit weekly.

It was a great day!

Mothers Day Weekend

Happy Mothers Day!

Saturday

Family photoshoot

All pink attire, crazy grandkids (especially Reagan), gyno-mite photos on our backs (don't ask), wet grass, bright sun. Proofs should be ready in a week. Fingers crossed I don't look like a fool.

Mimi, Papa, and Grandkids

Family brunch

Stuffed myself silly- like really-time to unbutton the pants. Nerf-gun wars. Who knew I was that good? And grandma of the year? Ya, that same sweet woman I wrote a post about yesterday? Well, she shot Reagan in the face. Nice, real nice. :)

Turtle Time

Our fam of 3 packed up from brunch and drove to Nick's mom's house. Reagan gave her a gift for Mothers Day and tried to feed her turtles.... but really just spilled the entire can of turtle food. Lovely.

Sunday

Nick woke me up at 6:30- yes- on Mothers Day. What on God's green earth for? Well, turns out he and Reagan made me french toast for breakfast. Just slightly early boys... don't you know this mamma likes her sleep? After I ate it (half asleep) , I climbed back into bed.

Went to church with my boys and family. Then took my mom out to lunch to Bamboo Club. Reagan was surprisingly well behaved (mothers day gift to me perhaps? I'll take it). I mean- he did roar like a lion at every waiter and table near us, insisted on double fisting the entire meal, but shoot- I got about 22 kisses during that lunch alone. Love. Him.

After lunch we came home and it was nap time. I got a longggg massage (heavenly) , read my Nook, and took a nap. Again- this mamma loves her sleep.

When we woke up it was off to Lakeshore (yes, I know... loose cool points here for shopping at the teacher store on a holiday), but ended up at the Golden Spoon for frozen yogurt. Heavenly.

Such concentration!

Being a mom is definately the hardest thing I have ever done but I love every minute of it. Reagan brings me so much joy and a happiness that I have never felt before.

Happy Mothers Day
