Our Weekend

Saturday
Reagan had another friend's birthday party.
It was kind of a disaster of a party. At least on our part.

Not 5 minutes after getting there Reagan came running over to Nick and I to show us his hands. They were covered in black and blue. We were talking to some of the other parents and totally not paying attention to our 2 year old. Oops. Turns out Reagan found the Thomas the Train cake and threw those hands of his right in it.

Then came the fall. All the kids were sitting on a wall waiting to ride the train. The kiddos started climbing the fence. I told Reagan to be careful which he quickly responded "Me be careful Mama". So I continued talking to the parents some more. Oops. Reagan totally ate-it. Crash. Smack onto the concrete- head first. Holy hell. I was praying it wasn't the teeth. Just a big 'ol goose egg. The party workers were quick with the ice and he was fine. The parents all thought Nick and I were so calm. If they knew our kid more, they would realize this is pretty standard for him.

Sunday
We had a family lunch at Lucielle's BBQ.
Delicious.

It was Baby Charlotte's first outing!
Couldn't you just eat her?

PS- want to see a sneak peak of what is in store for Reagan's 3rd birthday?
Get excited.
I know I am!

100th Day of School

Whoo hoo. We survived the 100th day of school!
I am nothing short of exhausted.
Our first graders had the.best.day. and that makes it all worth it!

We read books:

Made 100th day crowns:

Did a 100th day word search:

Did a 100th day name chart:

Made pictures of what we will look like in 100 years:

Had a 100th day snack:

Played "Race to 100" with a partner:
(Partner 1 rolls dice until she gets to 5. At the same time Partner 2 is writing his numbers to 100 as fast as he  can.  As soon as Partner 1 rolls a 5 she yells stop.  She gives the dice to her partner and it is his turn to roll while she writes. It goes back and forth until first player writes to 100. Make sense?)

We made estimations and timed ourselves doing random things 100 times:
(I seriously couldn't stop laughing when they were doing the stand/sits and jumping. They were exhausted!)

We also worked together with our tables using 100 Lego's to build something:

Happy 100 th Day from our class to yours!

Lately....

Hiya friends!
Life has been pretty busy lately and to top it off we are all still sick! (I'm on week 3- blah!)

Here is a little recap of what's been going on:

(1) Last Thursday our school did "Reading Under The Stars".
It was a really cool and free even for our students and families.  Families were invited to eat a pizza dinner, choose some new books (donated), and read outside on the field "under the stars".  The first 100 kids were given flashlights (also donated). My friends and I worked the sign-in table and boy was it a mad-house. The line was steady for a good hour. It was awesome to see all the kids with their families - so excited to read!

(2) Saturday I was supposed to attend my friend Sarah's baby shower but I had to miss it because I was feeling so sick. I ended up sleeping all day. (Except for the 1 1/2 I was up for lunchtime.) Oh my word. I guess I needed that rest. And huge thanks to my amazing husband who was on daddy-duty all day/night long while I slept. I'm sad to have missed the festivities but I'm sure they are all thankful I wasn't there sleeping through the shower!
(Sarah and I last March at her son Chase's birthday)

(3) Saturday night Nick informed me that our hard-drive crashed. Tears. I was a hot mess. And no. I didn't have things backed up.  I guess the only thing I really cared about were my pictures. Thankfully I have most of them printed out and put in albums. All except the last few weeks and my school pictures (for our end of the year slide show). Boo. I guess I will be figuring out the best way to back-up my pictures soon.

(4) Sunday was a crazy day. Reagan had 2 different birthday parties to attend- at different sides of town. Both mommies did a great job and I was so inspired by their creativeness!

First up was Jackson's 4th "Superhero" birthday.

Then we sped across town to attend Owen's 2nd "Little Man" birthday.

(5) This week my first graders are starting their Flat Stanley projects. I had a WONDERFUL response from  my friends through Facebook and Blogland!! We have over 40 people wanting to host a Stanley. Thanks to those of you who replied! You should be getting your letter by this weekend I hope! (As I write this, I'm remembering that I forgot the dang envelopes at Target tonight. Geesh! Guess I will be back soon!)

(6) Wednesday is our 100th day of school. As all of you teachers know. What. A. Crazy. Day. I will post about it afterwards. :)

(7) Last, but not least. Watch this video. I seriously can't stop laughing.
Where can I meet her?

Flat Stanley Request

Hi Blogland Friends!
I know that I have "met" so many wonderful blog friends from across the country and I have a big request.  Every year, my first graders do a "Flat Stanley Project".  You can read about it here.

Would any of you sweet blog friends be willing to host one?

First I will get your name/address and then I will pair a student up with you. They will write you a letter and send you their Flat Stanley.  You will then have a couple of weeks to take some pictures with the Flat Stanley doing something fun or special where you live.  You will also write a letter back to my student and send the photos and Stanley back.  The students wait excitedly for the mail and love reading about where their Flat Stanley's traveled.  We create a huge bulletin board to document.

I teach at a Title 1, low income school where most of the students never get to travel farther than their neighborhood. So this ends up being an amazing experience for them to see the country.

If you are interested, please comment below.  Also, please email me at Mandygraham311@yahoo.com with your name and address.
THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU!

The Big 3-0

Thanks for the birthday wishes!
I had the most relaxing and cozy birthday weekend!
Just what I needed.
(How cute is this? My friends and work made it for me!)

I kinda already filled you in about the begining of the weekend in yesterday's post.
Last night we headed over to my parents house to cheer on the Packers.

It didn't work. They lost.
I suppose we can't win it all every year.
Plus I'm not sure my piggy bank could handle another party if I needed to throw a Superbowl bash.

I did get some fabulous cuddle time in with my sweet niece though. Big plus.

My mom made her famous chicken enchiladas and I got to open some awesome gifts.
Mom and Dad got me:
A Clarisonic Mia
(I'm so excited to try this on my face!)

Keurig iced coffee
(Maybe this will help me get out of bed in the mornings!)

And a new coach swingpack.
I love the size and think it will be great for sporting events and trips!
(I ended up exchanging it today for this color though..)

The hubbs got me:

The white watch I wanted! :)

And my Sister and Bro-in-law got me:

Coach Aviator Sunglasses.

I was spoiled rotten and I love all my gifts!
Thank you to the best family ever! :)
