Our Father's Day Weekend

We had a wonderful Father's Day Weekend.

Friday
It started out on Friday night.
Nick got off early because he went in early.

We met my sister and her little family at our favorite splash pad.
We stopped at Subway for some dinner first, and brought it to have a little picnic. It was perfect.  Reagan loves the splash pad but we hadn't been yet this summer.  This was also the twins' first time.  I wasn't sure if they would be too little, but they loved crawling around and splashing.  Hudson was terrified of the fountains that sprayed up but Harper just laughed and laughed.  Poor Hudson got cuts on his toes from crawling on the ground so much.  I felt so bad! Poor little guy!

Playing on the picnic blankets with Aunt Meg, Charlotte, and Uncle Shaun.

Hudson trying very hard to steal Reagan's sandwich.

 And they're off!

 They loved to splash!

After we splashed and played for awhile, we walked down to get some frozen yogurt.  Reagan insisted on bringing his pirate map and made us follow him to find the treasure.  The Friday night bar/dinner/date crowd loved him.  He is such a ham and loves the attention.

Saturday
Saturday was pretty uneventful.  We did projects around the house and hung out together! Nothing too exciting to report!

Sunday
Sunday we woke up and went to church.  After church we took Nick out to breakfast at 5 and Diner.  It was sure chaotic but I think I just have to come to terms with this is how our life is going to be from now on! It was the babies' first time sitting in a restaurant high chair and it took a little maneuvering to figure out how to sit them in the booth they gave us. Of course right when we sat down it was time for them to be fed, order our food, and entertain Reagan. It was a bit stressful but this is life!

After lunch we went home and the babies napped. Reagan, Nick and I played some Wii sports before the boys headed off to the movie theater for a little date.  They went to see Epic and really liked it.

That night we just hung out and ordered a pizza.

We got Nick some cards and a gift card to upgrade his phone.  For the boy who swore against getting a smart phone, he has used his so much it's ready for a new one! Reagan also made one survey about Nick at church and at home with me.  I sure do love his answers!

Couldn't you just picture him saying them?

It was a great Father's Day and I think Nick really enjoyed all of the love.

Summer Play Dates

One of my favorite things about summer is the play dates we  have with friends.
Since many of my mommy friends are also teachers, summers work out best for getting our little ones together. We've had a few already this summer- and boy has Reagan been a happy camper!

At the beginning of summer we had a fun filled day with our friends.
I had a bunch of passes to Pump It Up and my friends Megan, Jenny, and Siobhan met us with their kids.
After Pump It Up we hit up Chic-fil-a for a yummy and rowdy lunch.

There were 5 little boys 2-5 and 4 babies 1 and 8 months and under.
We definitely got a lot of attention!

 All the babies lined up.

Last week we got together with an old friend Marisol.  She used to be my Mom's assistant years ago and would "baby sit" my sister and I while my parents' traveled.  She was always like the cool-older-sister. We've recently reconnected and it was fun to have her and her two precious kids over to play. My Mom and sister Meg came to catch up with her as well.  The boys were the same age and had fun playing together.  Mom ordered us all lunch and we talked for a long time!

We still have a bunch of friends we need to schedule play dates with this summer!
Such fun!

Happy Father's Day

Today is Nick's 5th Father's Day.

I am so blessed that he is my husband and the father of our children. He is an amazing dad.  He is so hands on and I know I lucky I am to have him.  I have friends whose husbands don't cook, bathe babies, feed kids, etc.  I can not even imagine.  Nick is always more than willing to do whatever is needed to make our life run smoother.  He works so hard for our family and wants his children to grow up having the best memories. I hope he knows just how special he is and how much he is loved.

Here is a little photo-walk down memory lane!

Nick's First Father's Day

We went to PF Changs for dinner with my parents and came back home to celebrate. I didn't take many pictures! But here is one of Nick and Reagan opening his firs Father's Day gift.

Nick's Third Father's Day

We met my family at the bowling alley for a day of bowling fun and then we all went to Bamboo Club for dinner. It was such a fun day! You can read more about it here.

Nick's Fourth Father's Day

We went out to lunch to Outback with my sister Meg and her little family. Outback is Nick's favorite place so we enjoyed a good meal there, and then went to my parents' house to swim!

Happy Father's Day to all of the wonderful Daddies out there!!

Dad's 60th Birthday

This past weekend my wonderful Daddy celebrated his 60th birthday.

My Dad hates attention and when we try and do anything special.
But tough luck for him.

He is seriously the.best.dad.man.ever.
He is the most generous, thoughtful, and caring man.

Everyone I meet says the same thing about him. Clearly it is true.

My mom organized a family dinner at one of our favorite Chinese food restaurants. They have a private room that we tend to take over for these type of events. When you ask him what he wants for his birthday or holidays, or such, he always says the same thing - to be with his family.  So the whole gang of us came - his 3 daughters, our husbands, and his 6 grand kids. We had a few surprises up our sleeves.

 Dad with his 3 daughters.

 My parents.

Dad with 1/2 of the grand kids.

 Dad with the other 1/2.

All of the grands with Dad.

My sister wrote a cute song about him to the tune of "Sweet Caroline" and we all sang it to him. It was a crack up.  Yes I took a video. But my sisters said they would never speak to me again if I posted it. Boo.

I made a slide show full of photos of Daddy with us all.  I had such fun choosing pictures and music that I thought everyone would love.  Everyone loved taking a trip down memory lane. If it wasn't almost 20 minutes long I would post it here. Ha Ha. I guess I got carried away!

Charlotte and Rea Rea loved dancing around to the music.

We also all wrote letters/notes, sharing our favorite memories with him and such.  We also reached out to his family and friends from across the country to do the same.  We took turns reading them aloud and we all were crying by the end- haha. Everyone was so sweet.

It was a great night to show our Dad how much we love him.
He says it was his best birthday ever and is still thanking us for it.

Happy birthday Daddy!

Here are a few pics of my little part of the family!
