Live each day like your last....

This weekend I attended a memorial service for my sweet friend Lisa's father.
I didn't know him personally but I went to support her and her sister Brittany.

I left the service feeling like I needed to go hug and love on my family.
I can't imagine what Lisa and Brittany are going through.

And then I logged on to Blogger tonight and saw Natasha's post.
It was perfect.

She wrote a beautiful post that expresses exactly what I am feeling.
Thanks Natasha.

Pumpkin Carving Fun

Wednesday night, Reagan and Nick carved a pumpkin.

Reagan was pretty grossed out by the thought of sticking his arm inside the pumpkin (this kid does not like getting dirty). But he loved pretending to do it and loved playing with the tools.

I think the boys did a great job!

Falling for Fall at our house

Although the temps are still in the mid to high 90's here in Arizona, we have busted out the Fall decor at our house.  Reagan is so excited for Halloween and all of the festivities that come with it.  It was so fun to see how excited he got to decorate the house for Fall.

Also- this weekend would have been our 4th annual Pumpkin carving party.
But with the arrival of the twins, we decided not to host it this year.
Here is a link from last year if you are interested!
We will definitely do it again next year!

A ribbon wreath I made last year for the front door.

Our entry table with pumpkin accents and a Fall B&BW candle.

Reagan's Halloween shelf with Halloween books and movies in the basket.

One of our bookshelves decorated for Fall.

 A new, Pinterest-inspired Halloween craft.

 Above the fireplace.
The photo on the left was from when my family went to Salem, Massachusetts.
We dressed up as witches at one of those photo places. Love how we are such nerds.

 Dining table.
I realized I'm missing my cornucopia and some other accents. Oh well.
Oh- and Reagan's spot has his seasonal place mat that changes for the holidays.

Our light up pumpkin family. We are going to need 2 more!
And I need to convince hubbs to change out the ASU flag for the Halloween one.

The front door. The lights around it are orange.
And don't mind the "do not ring bell" sign ... pink and blue is not really matching the fall decor!

Some craft pumpkins I made last year joined by some scarecrows.

More front porch decor.

I love seeing photos of your Fall home decorations and getting inspiration!
I already have some ideas stored away for next year!

Newborn Photo Session

A week ago we loaded up the family and took them to Lisa Saldin's Photography Studio.
We were there for 3 hours and had some really beautiful photos taken of Harper, Hudson, and Reagan.
She did an amazing job and we are so excited to have these photos.

If you are in the Arizona area I would totally recommend Lisa Saldin.
She has a wonderful way with children and has great prices.

Enjoy!

First and Second Doctor's Appointments

On Tuesday, October 2nd we took the babies to their first doctor appointment.
They were 5 days old.

Hudson weighed 5 lb and 14 oz. He was in the 5th percentile.
His weight had dropped from his birth weight of 6 lb 3 oz.
His length (18 inches) was in the 11th percentile and his head was in the 9th percentile.
(Clearly the nurses didn't measure him the same way, because at the hospital he was 19 inches long.)
He was looking slightly jaundiced , but not badly.

Harper weighed 6 lb 2 oz.  She was in the 7th percentile.
Her weight had dropped from her birth weight of 6 lb 5 oz.
Her length was still 19 inches and was in the 31st percentile.
Her head was in the 14th percentile.

They both got blood drawn and were troopers.

Love this picture of Hudson nibbling on Harper.

Today we took them back to the doctor for their weight checks.
They both gained 7 oz. since last week.
Hudson now weighs 6 lbs 6 oz.
Hudson's jaundice was gone.

Harper now weighs 6 lbs 9 oz.

We will be back in 2 weeks for their 1 month check up.
