Weekly Home Tour

This week for the home tour, Lindsey at The Bargain Blonde is asking us to spotlight our guest rooms and /or dens. We don't have any guest rooms, but we do have a den. It is a hot mess, let me tell you. It is definately the room that we throw things in. And it's not too decorated because it will most likely turn into the new playroom when the currently playroom turns into a new baby's room. Caught all that?

So without further ado....

Holy - stuff!

There is my nerdy teacher cart...yes I'm one of those! And a random tv just chillin on the floor. I told you- hot. mess!

This bookshelf has my crafty stuff and Reagan's videos.

This bookshelf has Nick's dvds. Thank goodness his obsession has stopped. I have now convinced him we do NOT need to buy every single movie. Renting is perfectly acceptable!

Thank you baby Jesus!

This bookshelf has random school stuff of mine and Nick's school books.

Here is the den window...and Rea Rea playing with the baby stuff.
Just a temp. holding spot until we pass it on!

I found the perfect display...errr..hiding spot for some of Nick's football crap. During football season these little helmets are displayed in the living room for each game.. Like each game, he matches up the helmets. Kill me.

Notice how they are hidden? hehe

This is looking into the den from the living room/front entrance. I love these doors! Clearly Reagan does too- notice the fingerprints?

Oh , and here is the desk, file cabinets, etc.

We hardly use it as a den- so I think it will be a perfect playroom. We can watch the kiddos playing from the main part of the house. But we've got time for that! :)

MIA Much?!

Hi Guys!

Sorry I haven't been around lately! It's been a busy week!

Wednesday was the first day for teachers to report to summer school. We met with our partner and started planning. I'm lucky that my partner is sooo nice and was willing to join up with a friend of mine and her partner to plan together. We ended up having a fun little group of 6 (3 kinder classes). Unfortunately I got super sick on Wednesday night! My tummy was all sorts of messed up and I was up most of the night and all day at work on Thursday. (Oh- did I tell you that we worked 8-8 on Thursday?) I felt like death. We had a shorter day on Friday thank goodness. We also had open house where we could meet some of the families and explain the curriculum. Anyways, I think the next few weeks are going to fly by. There will be 4 of us in the classroom (2 teachers and 2 assistants) and we will only be teaching reading (Reader's Theater) and Writing to help promote the kid's oral language.

Friday night we went to my parent's house to celebrate my dad's birthday. Nick grilled and my sister made his favorite cake. Reagan was in hog heaven just running around and playing. And I was laying on the floor , feeling like death! But here are some pics:

Reagan loves his Uncle Shaun.

Happy Birthday Papa!

Saturday was spent doing absolutely nothing! Nick made a bed on the living room floor and Reagan and I just watched movies all day long. I dozed off and on and Reagan thought our campout was the best. Nick was in the den most of the day in the den studying. He has another big test on Monday (so fingers crossed!)

On a final note- I want to say sorry bc I try to comment on all of your blogs but I am still unable to comment on many of them. I'm not sure why I can do some and not others... are you guys having the same problem??

Summa-Summa-Time

I've been on summer break for a few days... and soaking in all the quality time I can with my little man before I start teaching summer school (tomorrow)! Here is what we've been up to:

Splash Pads

Playing with Cars
Swimming

Childrens Museum with Chase and Sarah

I will be teaching ELL summer school for the next 3 weeks. Tomorrow is the first day of meetings and set-up . We meet our kids for Open House on Thursday. I've had a great time with Rea Rea but if you follow me on Twitter, you know that it's been a rough week! We've had a lot of fun but trust me- there have been equal amounts of tantrums. Terrible Twos are VERY real. Today was a rough afternoon and I'm going to bed. Yes, it is 7:56.

This week's home tour...

Remember how I've been linking up with Lindsey from The Bargain Blonde for her weekly home tours? This week's tour is of the living room. Enjoy!

(Sorry in advance- Blogger is only letting me upload these two pictures... so you may have to squint for close ups!)

The living room is where we hang out 99 % of the time. I wish I could say that the TV is never on... but it's always on. Reagan dominates this tv. His little Pottery Barn chair sits right up front and this is where you can often find him. (It's looking pretty worn! He's had it for 2 years... my mom has been meaning to order him the bigger chair- we'll see!) This picture was taken in the morning so the toys are still contained in the playroom or in the toy basket. By afternoon this place is covered with Reagan's toys.
Hope you enjoyed this mini tour... Sorry again about the lack of pics!

Week 1 of Summer

I am just finishing up my first week of summer vacay.

Here's a quick look at what went down:

1. Jury Duty- yes. On my first day of vacay I was called to come down. Luckily it was just the Scottsdale court. After waiting for 2 hours I was let go. Phew.

2. Nasty allergies. Something about this weather has got me all sorts of plugged up. Is this stopping me from laying out, nah.

3. Team planning with my first grade team- we worked on our calendar for next year and started brainstorming news ways to revamp math stations and create calendar notebooks. (We've been going ga-ga over your ideas bloggy friends!)

4. Speaking of Ga-Ga... I've been listening to her new cd nonstop- LOVE IT!

5. I've been laying poolside as much as I possibly can.

6. Catching up the dvr. Lets see. Housewives- NJ- Im team Teressa.. While I think her sister in law is gorgeous, I think she and the brother are crazy. NY- They have all completely lost it. But I do get a kick out of Ramona and Sonja. But really, I just want to watch last season's scary island- now that was quality tv. Turtle time and Bethany/Kelly... perfection. OC- Im so excited for the big fight on Sunday! Bachelorette- I swore I wasnt going to watch this season... not a big Ashley fan... but I caved. I even entered a pool. We had to randomly pick boy names out of a hat and bet on them ... person who goes the farthest wins the pot. I got Blake...blah. He's not gonna go far. Anything else I'm missing?

7. On Friday I went to a math training with Marcy Cook. Have any of you seen her? Do you use any of her products? Which do you recomend?

8. Friday night was our weekly family fun night. We went to Red Robin for dinner and came home to camp out and watch Up. It was so cute... pretty sad, I def cried but it was good!

How was your week?

Week 2- Home Tour

Today I am linking up with the sweet Lindsey for her weekly home tour.

This week we are spotlighting our bedrooms.

Just like last week, I will start with my room and then Reagan's. So, here goes.....

Just a little warning... our room still needs a lot of work- looking at these pics especially!

walking into our bedroom

one day we will get a nice, big bed... but for now this is what we have. I do love our linens... I think they are from Kohls. (Notice the white pillow cases on the bottom? Nick is obsessed with his ooooolllllddd pillow and cases from forever ago. It's all he will sleep on.

And that crate next to the bed.... thats for Lily, our little dog. She starts the night in bed with me but Nick eventually puts her away for the night.

I do love this shelf above our bed. From left to right (a picture from when we got engaged, a Willow Tree hubby and wife, some wedding pictures, our unity candle, and my bouquet, some devotional books, and our little angel Willow Tree for the baby we lost)

On top of Nick's dresser (I guess I didn't take a picture of mine) is the tv and stuff. And looking at that mirror- I think we need to re-position it! I love this sign (but really, I'm a sucker for all signs!). It's the same quote that was in our wedding program.
Here is my night table. You can see what book I'm reading, my Nook, water, tissues (Such a bad cold right now!) , phone and remote. Yes, the last thing I watched in bed last night was RHONJ- kind of a disapointing episode if I may say so myself!)
Now onto Rea Rea's room
A sweet little sign Nick's Mom made
Reagan' bookshelf (humidifier, flashcards, cds, photos, and obviously books)
The changing table (from Babies R Us). I love it- tons of storage.

Reagan's room theme is Nautical. When I was preggo I had a really hard time choosing his bedding and theme.. I'm not really a character/animal fan... so I found a set I loved at Pottery Barn that was classic and I tied in the nautical theme. I got these letters from Pottery Barn as well as the life preserver with his name on it.

Here is his crib (from Babies R Us- same collection as the changing table). The bedding is the Chase Collection from Pottery Barn Kids. I just realized that the mobile isn't up. We have that too- from the same collection... It has sailboats. Cute. The border on the room is from Babies R Us Nautical collection. I thoguht it fit well.
The inside of the crib. This kid LOVES his animals.

I love his toy chest. It matches perfectly. It's from Land of Nod.

Here is his glider. It was a Godsend when I was nursing him and doing late night feedings. It's so soft and comfy. This was our first big splurge when we found out we were pregnant!

Kind of dark, but here is his window wall.

The shelves above his changing table.

Baby pictures, stuffed animals (he makes us change out the animals regularly- stinker!, ultrasound picture, a print from his Sesame Street Birthday Party, and a jar of wishes (From one of my baby showers)

So that's it!

Hope you enjoyed this week's tour!
