Life Lately

I can not believe November is coming to an end! This has been a crazy busy month.
Here are some photos of what we have been up to lately!

We've had friends come and visit.

3 of my sweet friends from work (Tiffany, Holly, and Alex) came to visit.
And yes. Alex is a great sport and played Buzz Lightyear with Reagan!

Megan and Jenny came over to visit.

Some of my best friends from college came over for a girls night.
(Sarah, Liv, Erin, and Courtney)

And more college friends came over for a great night.
(Meg, Sarah, Angie, and Alicia)

We kept laughing about how our Saturday nights had changed! The husbands were all watching football on the couch and babies were crawling, screaming, and making quite a mess of my house! Long gone are the sorority parties!

We've been outside a lot!

Oh my word. The weather here has been gorgeous! My parents got Reagan a Big Wheel for their house to practice his peddling. He is loving riding it outside!

We've busted out the warmer jammies!

The nights here have been cold! We love getting all "warm and toasty" as Reagan says!

We've had play dates!

Reagan with his buddies Peyton and Owen.

The babies met their Great Grandma for the first time!

The babies have had their first smiles.

We went to the zoo for Cooper's birthday party.

Thanks for all of you who have made our November so great!

Thanksgiving in the classroom

Thanksgiving was always a fun little holiday in our classroom.
While we didn't do the big feast like the kinders, we had a lot of fun learning about the Pilgrims and the first Thanksgiving. Some of my favorite things included Pilgrim children reports, comparisons, and art projects, sequencing the events, Thankful turkeys, hand print turkeys, playing Pilgrim games, etc.

Here are some of my favorite things I've found on many of your blogs that I love this year!

At First Grader At Last, I love her Thankful Plateful project. This could definately be something to send home for homework and have the kids share at school. I also love her thank you notes- perfect for a writing station!

At First Grade is Fantabulous she has a great printable for your class to do "I am not a turkey". I think this is another fun homework activity for the kids to do.  They have to make turkey disguises and write about it.  There are some adorable ideas on Pinterest.

Here is another link of Turkey disguises including a parent letter from Fabulous in First:
As a teacher and mom I would LOVE to help my child do this!

My kids always love comparing themselves to the Pilgrim children. Chalk Talk has great pictures for Venn diagram comparing.

First Grade Wow posted an adorable Pilgrim children template and writing paper. It is so much cuter than what I was doing! I definitely will do this next time!

At Teacher Idea Factory she posted an adorable place-mat idea as well as a Venn diagram to compare a regular dinner to a Thanksgiving feast. So creative!

Do you have an creative Thanksgiving ideas for the classroom?
Feel free to post a link in the comment box below! :)

Thursday Laughs

This Thursday I thought I'd share with you some of the funny videos I have seen lately.... enjoy!

(1)
My dad showed me this video the other night.
I laughed so hard.
It was the complete opposite at my school.
Can you teachers relate?

(2)
Do any of you watch SNL?
I thought Bruno Mars was hilarious!
I have a new love for him!

(3)
My sister and I have a weird sense of humor.
This was on SNL and we can't stop singing it and doing it!

It's been awhile since I posted my phone pictures to the blog.

We tucked Reagan in bed with 3 stuffed animals and came back to check on him a bit later.
This is what we saw. Crazy kid!

I voted. But my candidate didn't win.

I love babies in their jammies.

The Kids' Christmas Wish List!

I've had a couple of family members ask about what they should get the kids for Christmas this year, so I decided I would do a little blog post with pictures of ideas. I hope this helps!

For Reagan:

(1)

His Grammy and Grandpa are getting him either a tricycle or a big wheel which will be awesome.  He loves playing outside and needs practice with peddling!

(2)

He is really into playing with his Jake and the Neverland Pirates ships, so I know he would love these. (Captain Hook's Adventure Rock and action figures)

(3)

Santa is bringing Reagan a kitchen for the playroom this year, so he would love a shopping cart to go with it as well as play food!

(4)
Reagan is big into dress-up this year. So he would love any sort of dress up costumes or masks.  He has mentioned he wants a Dr. set lately. Maybe we have a future Dr. on our hands!

(5)

Reagan is really into playing games lately. I think these preschool age games would be perfect!

(6)

Reagan loves his Tag Junior. Here are 2 new books he would love.

(7)

My parents got him an InnoTab last Christmas. Here are 3 new games he would LOVE to have!

(8)
For clothing - he is wearing a 4T right now
For jammies - he is wearing a 5T right now

For the Twins

(1)
For clothing they will be wearing 3-6 months for after Christmas.

(2)
Gift Card to Buy Buy Baby so we can put it towards a double stroller.

THANK YOU! :)

6 Weeks After Delivery

Friday I had my 6 weeks-post baby- appointment with my Dr.

(I can't believe it's been 6 weeks! Doesn't it feel like I was just pregnant!?!)

Anyways. All is good.
My scar from surgery looks good. It still feels totally tingly when I touch it but doesn't hurt.My mom said her Csection scar from when she had my sister still feels tingly to the touch. How weird is that?
Anyone who is scared of having a C-Section, seriously- don't be! I was so happy with the procedure and the recovery.

The Dr. told me I was now able to start lifting heavy things again (aka Reagan). I am also now able to work out- that gave me a good chuckle. I am not a worker-outer. Haha. She laughed and said I could even though I probably wouldn't have any time to do so. She also said it was okay for Nick and I to do... ahem, you know.

I've lost 32 pounds since I had the babies. Which is awesome considering I only gained 15! These babies are sucking the fat right out of me! Thank you babies! But of course here comes the holiday season- and thus the yummy food and sweets.
