Reagan's new ride

Reagan got a Power Wheels Harley Motorcycle for his First Birthday.... and it's been in it's box in the garage since April! Today Nick decided to bust it out and put it together. Reagan was in hog heaven. He spent the day pushing it, sitting on it, and playing on it. The battery needs to be charged for 18 hours before used... This actually makes me happy. Im kinda scared for Reagan to ride on it when it actually drives itself!
Here is a fun video I took of him today! Hope you all had a great Monday off!!

Family Sunday

Today my family gathered at my parent's house. I headed over first while Nick stayed home with a napping Reagan. Lots of fun swimming and chatting with my sisters, brothers in law, and niece and nephew.Later Reagan and Nick joined us. Mom cooked a delicious linner and the kids all played. We also watched The Sound of Music that was on ABC Family. None of us had seen it in YEARS and we got so sucked in. We are all going to be singing those songs for days I'm sure!

Here are some of the pics I took:
The boys coloring in the fort we built.
Cousins! (Reagan 17 mo, Sadie 8, Sawyer, 6)

So thankful for my amazing family!

S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y Night....

Today my Mom, Sister Meg, and I had a much needed girls lunch. We went to Blanco and it was delicious!!! They had such good guacamole and chips! I had the best chicken taco as well. We talked forever and got some good girl-talk. After lunch we did some window shopping.

( Here we are before lunch)

This afternoon I ran some errands and took care of a VERY cranky Reagan. He is still feeling pretty crummy with his cold not to mention the teething will. not. stop! This makes him soooooooooooooooooooooo irritable.

Tonight Nick went to the first ASU home game. Its like 110 degrees out right now at kick off... I'm so glad he's there and not me! So Reagan and I are taking it easy in the air conditioning. After he goes to bed I have a long night of progress reports and tests to grade.

Hot Saturday night, right?

(Reagan cheering on the SunDevils!... Dont mind his runny nose!)

Lastly.... I wanted to share a couple of books that I haven't been able to put down!
The Hunger Game series is amazing! I swore up and down that I wouldn't like it because it seems very unlike the books I typically read (chick-lit) but after 300 people recommended it, I decided to cave. And boy am I glad that I did! I am now starting the third and last book in the series, Mockingjay. If you are a reader and haven't tried it yet- DO IT! :)

TGIF!

Hi guys!
Sorry I have been pretty out of the blogging world! School has been crazy busy and Reagan has been fighting a cold/cough. Since my life has been first grade overload lately- I decided to jot down some funny things that were said in my classroom today to share with you all.
1. One of my girls (girl 1) chose a medal necklace (That I got from Kelli's birthday party) from the treasure box. It said "Winner" on it. While I was passing out spelling tests I overheard the following:
Girl 2: "What does that say"
Girl 1: "Winner"
Girl 2: "Oh, ya. Winner , Winner Chicken Dinner".
I was dying.. I know I say this a lot in the classroom, but its always hilarious when you hear a student say something you say... especially when they hardly speak English.
2. Another one of my girls came up to me during reading group and said "You are the best teacher I NEVER had". Gotta love first graders and their language.
3. One of my 5 boys.... yes, I only have 5 boys out of 18 kids..... asked me today why I colored something "Jello"... Poor guy can't say yellow... I couldnt stop smiling.
4. At the end of the school day I stand with my kiddos outside our classroom door where most of the parents pick them up. I have a VERY affectionate class of girls.. I gets hundreds of hugs, I love yous, and such throughout the day from them. But today as I was saying goodbye to my kids, one of my boys came up and whispered it my ear " I love you so much!"... I seriously almost cried.
Hope you all have a fantastic three day weekend. We have lots of relaxing family fun planned!

Sports Party

Last night our friends Kelli and Vince hosted a sports-themed birthday party for Kelli. It was a great time with friends, not to mention a good excuse to dress up. Nick and I were such nerds and got so excited to dress up. We kept laughing that it was just like getting ready for a date party in our sorority/fraternity days!
Before we went to the party we dropped our sweet boy off at his Mimi and Paka's house for a sleepover. How adorable is he with his backpack?

Nick and I decided to dress up as golfers for the party.
Here is what we came up with:

The party was super cute.
Kelli had "consession stand food" including natchos, soft preztels, hot dogs, cracker jacks, popcorn, and cotton candy.
She also had everyone pose in their best heisman pose:

Vince and Kelli
Travis and Rachel

Nick and I (obvi)

We had so much fun playing "Minute to Win It" games!
Here are some of the funny pics:

(The score board)

We had a great time. Happy Birthday Kelli!

Isnt it the best ......

Isnt it the best when your co-workers are also great friends?
Last night was our school district's happy-hour challenge. They had a tally board to document how many people were there from each school. I was so proud! Our school totally "brought it" and had over 30 people there! We got second place and didnt lose by very much!

Here are some pics from the night!!

And today I was visited by one of my best high school and college friends Kristin! She now lives in California but still comes home to visit her parents. So glad she was able to visit today. We have so many fun memories and totally wish she still lived here!
(Dont mind my grubby look- I may or may not have been a little worn out from the night before!)

Today I feel.. like one exhausted teacher and mommy! It was such a day!! Between another heat advisory day, another biting incident in my class, a forever long lockdown which happend during my specials (so no break for me), and my baby tripping and hitting his head soooo hard on the tile- I feel a little overwhelmed!

Here is a pic of Reagan and his shiner :( Tear

I bet you didn't know.. that I ate a Chilie's soup and salad tonight
One of my favorite…
kids books is Skippy Jon Jones... Just read it again today so its fresh in my mind
