Day at the Zoo

On MLK day, we spent the day at the zoo.
It was a perfect day for walking around, visiting with family, and seeing some animals!

Here are some pictures from the day!

Nick's Aunt and Uncle flew in from Montana to visit Nick's Mom and Grandma.
We were happy to visit them at the zoo as well!

Rea Rea and Grammy.

Lunchtime with Huddy!

Grammy trying to get a picture with the twins... Harper was being a pill and wouldn't look at the camera!

Christmas 2013

Our Christmas vacation was an interesting one!
We were all hit by the tummy bug for a good solid week of our 2 week break. One person would get it, then the next, and so on like dominoes!  What a bummer.  But the good news was the actual Christmas celebration was nice. Here is a little photo recap of our holiday!

Buddy our elf said good-bye

And continued the tradition of bringing Christmas jammies for Christmas Eve

For Christmas Eve we had appetizers at my parents' house before church

After church we came home and had birthday cake for Jesus

We left Santa cookies, milk, and cheese stick for Rudolph. (We didn't have any carrots!)

Christmas morning the kids woke up and we opened presents

After opening presents at our house, we headed over to my parents' house to open more gifts!

Then my older sister and her family came over.  We all had a delicious lunch, the kids played outside, and we opened more gifts!

Later that afternoon we headed back to our house.  Nick's mom and grandma came over with dinner and more gifts!  We had another fun celebration!

I hope you all had as great a Christmas as we did!
Happy 2014!

Zoo Lights 2013

One of our favorite holiday family traditions is Zoo Lights!
Our December weekends are really booked so we decided to go the Friday night following Thanksgiving. And it was perfect. Not too cold and not insanely busy! We carried the babies in the Bjorns again this year and it worked great.  They stayed awake this year and loved the lights and music. So fun!

Here are some pictures from our night!

Reagan and his cousin Charlotte!

My little sister and her sweet family!

Our crew all bundled up!

Our amazing parents!

Thanksgiving 2013

I hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
We had a relaxing day with family over at my parents' house.
It was perfect.

We headed over in the morning, watched the parade, visited with relatives, ate a delicious lunch, and played with the kids. Simply perfect.

 Cousins working on crafts!

 My beautiful sister and niece

Trying to get a pic with my kiddos!

Harper is looking at me like I'm crazy!

And Hudson wants nothing to do with me! Ha

 Family and food

Reagan was so serious about drinking his water out of a wine glass!

Nick loves the movie "A Christmas Story"... so my parents got him a leg lamp. He was thrilled!

For Thanksgiving gifts for the kids' teachers we put together a few turkey bags.
Reagan has such fun making them!

I wrote each teacher a note thanking them for taking such great care of my babies.

And gave each teacher packs of thank you notes!

Just a little something to let them know we count them as some of our blessings!

Halloween 2013

We had a nice little Halloween night with our crew.
We had a pizza dinner at my parents' house and went trick or treating with the kids!

Everyone was pretty tired, so we were home and changed by 7:45 which was great!
The babies were troopers and were pretty content just being pushed around in the stroller.

As far as our costumes this year... we let Reagan take control again and decide what we should be.  He wanted to be Captain Hook (forever loving the bad guys, I tell ya!) He proceeded to decide what everyone else should be as well. I think it all worked out pretty well! :)

Our Minion and Monster Mike manned the front door while we went out trick-or-treating!

Here was our  crew from Neverland!
Nick was Mr. Smee,  Harper was Tinkerbell, Rea was Captain Hook, Huddy was Peter Pan and I was Wendy. Reagan was pretty pleased that we all were what I decided ! :)

At my parents' house before trick-or-treating!

Reagan trick-or-treating with Charlie!

My pretty little Tink!

My handsome Peter!

Love these two!

Costume details:
I tried really hard to pinch pennies where I could this Halloween! I originally had all 3 kids costumes in my cart from Disney and it was ridiculously $$! So I decided to try my best and cut corners. I decided that babies' costumes didn't need to be high end since they really weren't going to wear them again or play dress up. Obviously Nick and I didn't need the real deals- so I shopped around and found similar things. The most expensive thing of all of the costumes was Reagan's hat. But it was worth it. I swear- he got so many comments on it and I know it will be a great addition to our dress-up collection! :)

Reagan:
Captain Hook hat (Disney Store)

Hook and Sword (Party City)

Harper:
