Reagan's Halloween Party 2013

Going to Reagan's school Halloween parties has been one of my favorite traditions to do.  Each year the school does a sweet little parade and each classroom has a party. It's been fun going since he was 1 year old! I took a half day this year so I could go and help in his classroom.  It's always fun to see him interacting with his friends and such.

This year I made the pudding graveyard I saw on Pinterest.  I thought they turned out so cute but I had a major mom fail and they fell over in the car driving to school. Oops. Note to whoever wanted to try this next year- bring them in a container with sides! Duh. Geesh! Oh well.

For those of you curious what it is:

Anyways, the teachers and other moms thought they were adorable. But the kids could have cared less. All they wanted were the Cheetos. Kids!

I made these little buckets for the kid's teachers.
I got the idea from my sister Meg. Hershey Kisses and plastic, blinged-out spiders with a note that says "Bugs and Kisses". Super easy and hopefully were enjoyed throughout the day.

My beautiful niece also goes to the same school, so it was fun to see her in the parade as well.
Here she is with my sister!

The adorable Minnie Mouse and her parents during the parade!

Reagan's class all ready for the parade!

My Captain Hook parading through the school!

More friends celebrating!

School Spirit Week (TTT)

This past week was School Spirit Week at the kids' daycare/preschool.
Since the kids only go Weds-Fri we had to go all out for those 3 days.
One of the head ladies said, "I just love how you do them all!" And I said, "You can take the girl out of the sorority, but can't take the sorority out of the girl!" It's so true. I love a good theme!

Wednesday was Crazy Hair Day.

There wasn't much I could do with the babies, so we just focused on Reagan.

I let Reagan pick out what color hair dye he wanted. Green was his obvious choice.

Thursday was Hawaiian Day

The kids had nothing Hawaiian in their current sizes, so last weekend we ran around to 3 different stores trying to find some tropical garb. Of course all of the clothes are stocked for Fall- so Hawaii stuff was hard to come by. I ended up finding a Hawaiian swim suit and tee at Old Navy for Reagan. I grabbed him some luau goodies at Party City as well.  I got Harper and Hudson some Hawaiian type things at Carters on clearance as well. Poor Hudson kind of got the shaft! But there wasn't much to choose from for little boys!

Friday was Sports Day

Reagan chose which of his football jerseys he wanted to wear and we got him some football tattoos for under the eyes.  I found these football onesies for the babies at Children's Place and bedazzled Harper's to make it more girly.

2 Big Firsts for Reagan!

Last week Reagan had two big firsts!
My little guy is sure growing up fast.

(1)
He had his first ever trip to the dentist.  We had been reading books about the dentist and talking about it regularly, so he was excited to go. We went to a children's dentist and boy was it cool.  There were TVs on the walls playing kid movies, Lego tables, video games, etc. They gave Reagan a full tour of all the bells and whistles. He thought it was pretty awesome.  He did great with x-rays, the exam, etc.  And the dentist was so cute and took a few pictures with him so that he could take it home for his scrapbook. We did walk away with a few new tidbits though. 1) We needed to cut out fruit snacks from his diet. It was typically Reagan's go-to snack but they are terrible for his teeth. (He's been really good about cutting them out and hasn't asked for them once! Maybe I should use the "dentist" for other things?!) 2) We were told to start having him rinse with kids' ACT fluoride each night before bed. 3) I should start taking the twins at 1 year old!

(2)
You may remember how Reagan "bombed" his eye exam at his 4 year well child exam. Well, we took him to the eye doctors and yep - he failed that too. I mean. He's not blind, but boy does this kiddo struggle to see!  His eyes were like 20/100 (whatever that means!) Poor guy. He never complained about it or anything, but clearly the world is fuzzy to him.  So we ordered him some glasses.  You may have seen them on my insta-gram. He is pretty darn adorable. They take a week to come in and boy, he can't wait.   Now if only I could keep them in tact and not breaking at school!

Trendy Tot Tuesday - The Kids Go Back to School!

This past Wednesday the kiddos had their first day of school.
Reagan is in his last year of pre-school and the twins started the nursery at the same daycare.

The night before I had everything all set up for a successful morning.
A little photo prop, a back to school gift for Rea Rea, and a new school bag for the twins. Isn't it so cute? I just love it!

Here are the 3 kiddos before I dropped them all off at school.
I could just eat them.

Harper's outfit was from Gymboree.
Hudson and Reagan's outfits were from Children's Place.

Reagan had a great day back. He was so proud to report that he had no time outs. Thank goodness. A time out on the first day of school would have been rough. Ha!

The twins had a little bit of a harder time.  I cried like a baby dropping them all off in the morning.  And I gave my phone number in a card to his teachers and ask them to text me photos and messages.  They both refused to nap and were cranky and tired.  I think it's going to take some getting used to.

The rest of the week wasn't much better.  Each evening when I came to pick them up, I could hear them crying. Breaks my heart. Oh and three days in and the twins have already caught colds. Geesh- the joys of daycare! I know things will get better and I am so thankful that the twins have each other there.

Reagan's First Circus

This past Friday I surprised Reagan and took him to his first-ever circus.
My Mothers of Multiples group had a special group discount, so I bought our tickets through them. It was fun to be able to sit with familiar faces as well!

Overall we had a good time. But dang. It was looonnngg! He got antsy lots of time throughout it but really enjoyed the animals and the clowns the best. He was having a pretty naughty day and was testing me beyond measure.  I tried my best not to lose it and enjoy the show. Oh the life of a Mama. It's not all roses and rainbows, is it?

Posing by the truck out front.

 Reading his program.

Watching his favorite person - the Ring Master. Obsessed!

 Enjoying some cotton candy.

 The tigers were awesome!

A future clown?!

 Aww Dumbo!

So stinking cute!

We had a good time, but I don't think it's something we will do every year.
I think it's a little over the heads of little kids. Or at least mine! He didn't understand just how amazing some of these performers were. He just wanted animals and clowns to fall down. Ha !

Have you taken your kids to the circus? What did they think?

Vacation Bible School 2013

Last week was VBS at church.
We had a GREAT week.
It was Reagan's first time attending and my first time teaching.

I was a little nervous being a newbie but I had the best time. I definitely will do it again in the future.  There was something so rewarding about teaching the little ones about God's love.

Our church picked the SonWest Roundup theme and it was so cute.  All of the rooms, snacks, crafts, etc. were western and the music was awesome.  Reagan LOVED the songs and requested the "Country Jesus" music be played every.single.time we drove in the car. (All of the kids got a CD of the music the first day). By the way, we are still listening to the CD. Oh my word. And the dancing. Each day they taught the kids a new dance to the songs and Reagan was obsessed. The adults got such a kick out of watching him dance each day.  A couple days he even magically found his way to the stage to dance.

Here is a little snip-it of the music. So cute right?

Here is a video of Reagan dancing on stage.
I was talking to one of my kids and looked up and there he was - dancing with some of the fifth graders. What a nut job! I had to quickly grab my phone out of my pocket and film it for Nick.

I taught the 3/4 year old class and Reagan was in the 4/5 year old class.  Our groups traveled around to each station together so it was very interesting to see Reagan in action with other kids.  He sure gets rowdy with other little boys his age.  I had to pull out the teacher voice quite a few times with him since he thought he ruled the school.

Here are some pictures from the week.

Monday was Cowboy Day

Reagan was in hog heaven to wear his Woody Halloween costume to church.

Here are some photos from that day. (Eating his armadillo shaped quesadilla during snack time, being the river during the bible story of baby Moses in the basket, and making a cross necklace during craft time.)

Tuesday was Crazy Hair Day

I seriously had no idea what to do for crazy hair day. My friend Jessie recommended we used dry shampoo for Reagan's hair and it totally worked. We called it "old man" hair because it colored it grey/white.  I pulled my hair in a top knot and stuck a bee in it. I called it a bee-hive. Who knows! Not very crazy!

Here are some photos from that day. (Playing Moses in the bible story, playing a minute to win it game, and making a snake in craft time).

Reagan enjoying a cow snack!

Wednesday was Mustache Day

Seriously. I don't know how men do it. I was so stinking itchy from that thing!

I just love this picture of him dancing!

Thursday was Favorite Color Day

Each group had different colored bandannas. How perfect that my group's color was pink- duh- it's my favorite color! And no I didn't get to pick it! Winner winner chicken dinner! Ps- Reagan is sporting his favorite color green and his boots. He was in hog heaven wearing his boots every day!

Friday was Hat Day

By the end of the week I was exhausted and very happy to throw on a baseball hat!

I am so thankful that we had a huge turn out for VBS and that I met many wonderful people and kiddos that week.

TTT- Fourth of July Fashion

It's been awhile since I've linked up with the girls for Trendy Tot Tuesday.

And with The Fourth of July coming up, I thought it was a perfect time to share some of Reagan's past  patriotic outfits.

Reagan's 1st Fourth of July

Loved this little hat from Children's Place.

I think this top was from Kohls.

Reagan's 2nd Fourth of July

My little cutie sporting his red, white, and blue!

I love this picture!
Especially love his red chucks!

Reagan's 3rd Fourth of July

Yes. I was that mom for 1 year with the matching ON tees.

A little RL patriotic number to watch the parade.

 Patriotic and preppy!

Reagan's 4th Fourth of July

Nothing beats a nice button down!

I just adored these Gymboree flag shorts!
And the pouting picture is pretty hilarious as well!

Can't forget flag towels and swim trunks!

And before I had kids, I dressed up the dogs.
You wouldn't expect anything else, would you?

The stack of patriotic clothes in my room is pretty hilarious.
I have the kids' clothes all ready to be ironed and packed.

I just love dressing for the 4th.
Do you?
