Twin Updates

15 Months

On December 27th the twins turned 15 months.

They went to the doctor and had their well check.
Both weighed 19 pounds and were 30 inches long.

I'm going to try my best to remember their info...

I really should have done this post while it was fresh in my mind!

 But here goes...

The twins wore size 3 diapers and size 9-12 month clothing. They also wore size 3 in shoes.

They took two naps a day and still slept with their lovies and sleep sacks.  Both babies were addicted to their binkies and were immediately soothed by them.  Harper and Hudson both only said "Maa" and "Dadda" at this point as well.  The Dr. said we needed to try and get them to improve their language before the next appointment.  I feel like he said they should be saying 3-6 words at this point.

16 Months

On January 27th the twins turned 16 months. 

The babies have really changed so much.   They are definitely little toddlers now! They are wearing  all ranges of clothing , depending on the item!  They 

Harper

My little drama diva.  You are a riot. 

1. You are obsessed with your big brother Reagan. You follow him everywhere and love to climb into his lap. You also love to "help him" get dressed, give him a bath, and put lotion on him.

2. You are deathly afraid of our 8 lb. dog Lily.

3. You always prefer Mommy's arms to everyone's. Even Daddy.

4. You like to dance.

5. You love to cuddle your dolls and you especially love your stuffed "Boo" and baby doll in bed. 

5. You love to get dressed and put bows on.

6. You always nod your head. Yes. No. You are very expressive.

7. You say "Mama", "Dada", "No", "Ya", "Night", "All Done".

8. You bite. When you are frustrated and mad, you bite. It hurts! 

9. You hate getting scolded or in trouble.  If we yell or say no to you, you immediately bow your head and stick out your lip.  You even walk to the corner where Rea Rea sits in time out and put yourself there. It is hysterical. Drama I tell you.

10. You sing and talk in your crib before you fall asleep. Cracks me up. Thank goodness your brother sleeps through it all. 

11. You give kisses with an open mouth and love to cuddle.

12. Your favorite things are your baby dolls, the ball pit, and books.

Hudson

My little Huddy Buddy

1. You have more personality than I can bear. I could eat you up.

2. You are a wild animal and run everywhere.

The amount of wipe outs you've had, you should be covered in bruises!

But you literally get up with no tears and keep running with no sign of injury.

3. You have really started to "talk". At 15 months you rarely said Mama, and Dad only sometimes.

You are now saying "goal", "look", "ball", "dog", "duck", "night night" and "uh oh".

4. You are 100 percent , completely bffs with your Papa. Your face lights up and you prefer his arms to anyone else's --- even mine!

5. Your favorite things are books, balls, and anything you can throw and crash. 

6. You love to throw yourself on anyone who is sitting on the floor and "tackle" them.  Whether they want it or not, you are going to dog pile them!

7. You still grin ear to ear whenever you see Yo Gabba Gabba.

8. You love to hold your sister's hand and console her when she's upset.

9. You LOVE bathtime and throw yourself in whether I'm ready or not. Clothes and all.

10. You can climb onto the couch. You first taught yourself with a chair and now can do it without. Trouble.

11. You don't sit still for long.... the only person you sit down with is your Papa.

12. You love to play soccer with Reagan.  You actually kick the ball down the field and aim for the goal. You crack us up.  Future athlete over here! 

The Twins 12 Month Update

Happy First Birthday Harper and Hudson!

On September 27, 2013 the twins celebrated their birthday! 

Here is their 12 month recap! 

Both babies continued to be sick much of this past month. Gotta love those daycare germs! Hopefully they will start building up their immune systems!  They are both wearing clothing in sizes 6-9, 9-12, and 12-18.  It really just depends on what it is.  Luckily the Arizona weather hasn't changed much, so they can still wear their summer clothes! They are both in size 3 diapers and can't quite fit in any of the shoes we have for them. I'd guess they are in a size 2 or 3 in shoes... but most of their shoes are 4 or 5 ... so it might be awhile! Both babies are still taking 2 naps a day (an am and a pm) and have just recently transferred from bottles to sippy cups. Harper didn't seem to mind too badly but Hudson is still struggling. That boy and his tantrums. It's a daily battle when I hand him the sippy cup of milk. Not. Happy! And yes, at 12 months we stopped the formula (thank the Lord. That was so expensive with twins! About 50-75 dollars a week on formula!) and started whole milk.  We have started doing the 3 meals a day (or trying....) .  These kids are not fans of eating.  It's another battle. Harper is better than Hudson and although she mostly likes to throw her food on the floor, at least she manages to eat some of it.  Where Hudson has been straight up refusing. Little stinker.  I'm hoping it's because of teething?! 

The Dr. was concerned but not worried about their weight.  He said they both looked healthy and not sickly but were obviously on the small side with their percentiles.  They are both basically the same weight they were at their last appointment 3 months ago. He wants us to really focus on trying to get them to eat more. He said feed them whatever they will eat. He suggest chicken nuggets, fries, etc. Sounds great- but duh- they won't touch it! We are to watch it until the next appointment and if they don't start gaining weight they may have to see a specialist. I'm not worried. Just trying to get them to eat! Stinkers!  

Dear Harper,

My sweet baby girl.  You have the most precious smile that just makes me melt.  You are a lover and love to lean your head into us and just be near. You are still our scardy cat and tend to be more cautious than your brother.  You love attention and love to sing for us.  It's a sweet little soft humming sound. So stinking cute.  You love to play games where you hand me something and then want me to hand it back.  You will do that for a long time.  Your favorite thing to say is still "dada" although when you cry you throw out the occasional  "mama". You also like to say "that". You have 5 teeth and I swear- we never even know when you get them.  You don't make a fuss at all. On that same note, we were at your 12 month dr. appointment and he was shocked to see you had an ear infection - you were happy as clam.  

You can stand by yourself and love to pull yourself up into the standing position.  Your favorite toy is the ball popper you got from your party as well as your stuffed animals. But you pretty much play with everything.  You are really sweet natured but can definitely get mad.  If your brother and you are both trying to get into my lap, you will hit him in the head until he falls off. Little meanie! It's definitely hard not to laugh! You aren't walking by yourself yet, but you can scoot around furniture if the mood strikes you.  It's not often.

At your 12 month appointment you were 29.5 inches long (36th percentile) and 17 lbs (3rd percentile). 

I love you my sweet princess! 

Dear Huddy Buddy,

Oh this month has been a rough one for you.  You spent time in Urgent Care with a double ear infection and a fever of almost 104. You cried hysterically one night and daddy and I had no clue what to do with you.  We took you to the doctor and they couldn't find anything wrong! You are such a hot head. Something wasn't feeling good to you and you were going to make sure we knew it.  The only thing that calmed you down was driving in the car that night. So daddy and I took turns driving you around the neighborhood until you fell asleep. We'd try to bring you in the house and you'd immediately wake up screaming and we'd do it all over again. It.Was.Exhausting. You have also been teething like a maniac.  And unlike your sister, you let us know every pain and discomfort.  You refuse to eat, drink, put anything in your mouth, etc.  You are not a happy camper with these teeth! You are just now getting your fourth tooth. Other than health issues, you have been doing great.  You are a speed demon and crawl like a streak.  You have also started walking (barely).  You are taking like 3-4 steps at a time without assistance. You scream with delight- you are so proud of yourself.  You love to chase your big brother around and do anything he does.  You drive him crazy and vice versa. If he comes near you to kiss you or hug you, you usually scream bloody murder until he leaves.  It's a love/hate relationship.  Also, pretty comical. Your favorite toys are things that you can push and drive around, the ball popper, and anything musical.  You love to make noise! 

Your stats for this month: 29.5 inches long (36th percentile)- same as your sister! You'd think you were twins or something?! Ha.  And your weight was 18 lb. (2nd percentile).

The day after your first birthday you got your first haircut! We took you to Cool Cuts for Kids and had them just trim up your long locks.  Such a big boy!

The Twins 11 Month Update

Yep. The above picture pretty much sums up the twins' 11th month.

They were everywhere.

Never a dull moment with these two rascals.

Taking their 11 month pictures turned out to be pretty challenging. 

But for documenting-sake, here they are! 

Both babies had their fair share of the ickies.  They seemed to catch colds their first week in daycare and I don't think their noses stopped running all month.  Harper had an ear infection and had a difficult time adjusting to school.  She refused to nap and didn't want to eat there. 

Both babies learned to hold their bottles within the first week at daycare.  Huddy started "talking" this month- finally!  Like his sis, he mainly said "Dada" but threw out an occasional "Mama".  

Both babies really started moving.  Hudson was a turbo crawler and got such ouchies on his knees from crawing.  Hudson figured out how to to push the toy carts around the house and it quickly became his favorite toy.  He was fearless.  Harper on the other hand would pull herself up and would start to walk, and then quickly get scared and cry until you saved her.  She is so cautious.  

I really slacked on my journaling this month in their calendars so I can't recall much of what else happened this month.  I do know that I cherished my nightly snuggles with the babies.  Because of the them not feeling good, they were always wanting to be rocked to sleep in the rocking chair. And trust me. I was totally okay with this.  I missed my babies! :) 

The Twins 10 Month Update!

Such a bad Mama-Blogger!

The twins are almost 11 months and I realized I never did a 10 month old post!

Here is a little, quick update!

July was a busy month for the babies.

They took their first trip up North to Payson with the family.

They got lots of love! They had quite a few play dates as our summer came to a close. They had their first day at daycare and really struggled.  They cried every day and didn't want to nap for their teachers.  They both caught colds their first week at school. (Hence these pics show runny noses and watery eyes! Poor babies!)  They both learned how to hold their bottles at daycare that first week.

Dear Harper,

You are weighing 17 pounds and 4 ounces.  You are long and lean. But I love your chunky little thighs. So squishy! At 10 months you are wearing 6-9 month clothes and size 2 diapers.

You really started to "fight" with Hudson this month. You both had to be separated a few times in different play pens because you would both take each other's toys, bop each other with them, and then scream. So it begins... haha. You have turned into quite the scardy cat.  Everything makes you jump and hold onto me for dear life.  You are mostly afraid of dogs (especially our big, outside dog Hunter), Reagan's musical flower, and loud noises. You get really jealous if your brother is in my lap.  You start crying and try to climb up too.  You love to say "Dada" and talk to us. I try and try to get you to say "Mama" but you look at me, smile, and say "Dada" in return. It's too much. :) You love to wave at people and make them smile.  You are still so dainty and love to hold your hands in such a way. It's precious. We love our little princess Harper!

Dear Hudson,

You are weighing 17 pounds, 8 ounces. You are wearing 6-9 months clothes and size 2 diapers.  You love to pull up on everything and scoot around. You are so darn fast! You crawl like a bullet and you love for us to chase you.  You want so badly to play with Reagan and the other big kids you are around.  You hadn't started "talking" yet. Just lots of grunts and giggles.  You are our happy little man.  And food. Yes. You love food.  If you are ever upset, just give you something to snack on and you are happy. Ha ha. Love it. You love to be set free in the playroom to play with Reagan's toys.  You look up at me and just smile, like, "are you sure I'm allowed to be doing this?!" You are so fun. We love our little Huddy Buddy!

Happy 10 months babies! 

The Twins 9 month Update

The twins are 9 months!

So much has changed since last month.

Let's see if I can do a good recap.

Food:

We've continued to make baby food this past month but have also introduced pouches for when we are out and about : Yogurt, puffs, cheerios, mangos, avocados, pumpkin and broccoli. 

You've also started experimenting with finger foods such as cut up strawberries, blueberries, grapes, pancakes, and bread.  You are doing pretty well with the sippy cups of water but I think you enjoy throwing them off the high chair more than anything. You are still drinking about 25 ounces in your bottles a day. At 8 months you were still having a combination of breast milk and formula.

Clothes:

You wore a combination of sizes.  You've worn but 3-6 and 6-9 months. Hudson still fits and wears 0-3 shorts if I don't have anything in the right color/size. He has such a small bottom half!

Diapers:

You are both still wearing size 2 diapers.

Other fun tidbits from the past month:

You both crawl everywhere! So we put up "baby jail" to keep you in a certain area and keep you safe.  As the month went on, we have started to let you guys just crawl everywhere...but for when I need to do something, I keep you in the pen.  You both got your first two teeth this past month.  First trip to the splash pad, You both started sitting up unassisted.  You both started pulling yourself up on everything and standing.  You spent a week in a "day care setting" while I taught VBS.  There were only 2 other babies besides you in the church nursery, but I think it was good for you to not have me all the time.  You both sat in a high chair at a restaurant for the first time and sat in a shopping cart for the first time. I ordered the amber teething necklaces because I was so nervous about teething.  We wore them religiously for the first few weeks.  Hudson had a horrible teething experience so we kept his on to see if it helped any (and I think maybe it is?!) but we took off Harper's because I don't think it made a difference with her.

Dr. Appointment info:

At your 9 month Dr. appointment all looked well.  You are measuring on the small side but overall the Dr. wasn't concerned.  She suggested we add more healthy fats to your diet to get your weight up but she wasn't overly worried because you are both so strong. No shots this visit for you, just a toe prick to check for anemia - and all looked good!

Dear Harper,

My sweet, sweet, Harper. 

You are my little princess.  You can be so darn serious when you aren't sure about something.  You study everything.  We laugh at how funny it is to give you and Hudson both the same toy.  You hold it up and examine every part of it with your fingers. Whereas your brother pounds it on the ground and yells. You have discovered waving this past month and you get the biggest smile on when you wave to things and people.  You are so cautious when you crawl.  You take little crawls and sit in a doorway looking around before you enter. You love water!  You get so excited for bath time and even gave me a heart attack when you managed to flip out of your bath chair and into the tub full of water.  When you are in the pool, you love to dunk your head. You discovered how to pull yourself up on things this month but again- much more cautious than your brother.  You get a little anxious when you can't figure out how to get down. You caught your first tummy bug this past month and threw up! :(  You have started really "talking" and you say "Dada" and "My Dada" a ton. I try and try to get you to say "Mama" but you just respond, "Dada" with a huge smile. I think you know what you're doing! I just love the way you "coo" and make the best sighing sounds.  Such a little girl. Everyone who sees you in public comments on how you are the most beautiful baby girl. :)

Your hair is still slow to grow in but the color seems to be a medium brown.  Your eyes are still a very dark blue and your lashes are long and dark.  We had no idea you were teething! You were such a champ. Literally we looked in your mouth one day and saw your two bottom teeth were in! So different than your brother! 

You weigh 16 pounds 15 ounces which puts you in the 12th percentile.  So, you have gained 2 pounds in 3 months.  You dropped 4 percentiles in weight.  You are 27 inches which puts you in the 24th percentile.  You gained almost 2 inches but your percentile dropped 26 percentiles. Your head circumference is in the 13th percentile.

I seriously don't think I could love you any more Harper Grace.

You are my sweet little angel.

Dear Hudson,

My happy, wild, little man.

If I have any gray hairs, you are the reason why.

You are a complete wild man.  When you want to be snuggled, you hold on like a little monkey and fit so perfectly in my arms.  But when you want down, boy, you really want down.  You will squirm until you are free to crawl and move.  Diaper changing, getting dressed, and getting you zipped into your sleep sack seriously makes me work up a sweat.  You HATE being held down.  It takes you less than a second to flip over and try to crawl away. You are fearless. You crawl super fast and pull yourself up on everything. When you pull yourself up and can't figure out how to get down- no worries- you just let go and free fall. What on earth. Give me a heart attack why don't you!?! I can't count how many times you have fallen or smacked right into something.  You love to walk around the baby jail holding on to the gate and yelling for us to rescue you. You love to bang toys - especially on your sister.  Whenever we hear her crying we can almost bet that you are holding her down and hitting her with a toy. Hence why we have two baby jails set up. You often need to be separated. You are just like me when you get tired.  You play with your hair and try to yank it out.  You love Yo Gabba Gabba.  A commercial randomly came on and you started clapping and squealing.  We have found the key to your happiness. Whenever you are mad or sad we pop in the DVD and you clap, smile, and dance. It's the best. I need a video ASAP. Even though you are a wild man most of the time, when you get into water you completely chill out.  You are like Mr. Joe Cool and just soak it all in. You don't say any words like Harper yet, but you scream and holler enough for the both of you.  You sound like a monkey hollering from the trees. My little Tarzan! 

Your hair has gotten so long, thick, and soooo blonde.  Your eyes are still really light blue. When your bottom two teeth came in you were in so much pain.  You drooled like crazy and woke up crying for like a week straight.  

You weigh 17 pounds 8 ounces which puts you in the 5th percentile.  So just like Sissy, you have gained 2 pounds in 3 months.  You dropped 4 percentiles.  You gained an inch in length and are 27 1/2 inches long.  You are in the 18th percentile in length. For head circumference you are in the 4th percentile. 

My little Huddy Buddy. You are such a spit fire.

 I love your personality and could just eat you up with a spoon. 

PS. I'm totally ok with the fact that you are a huge Mama's Boy. :)

Twins 8 Month Update

Last week the twins turned 8 months old.

Holy smokes.

Time can just slow down any day now!

I don't have any stats since they don't have a dr. appointment this month.

But I do have some new pics and videos! :)

The twins' 7 month was a big one for them.

Dear Harper,

You are such a dream baby. I probably tell you I love you 100x a day. I just look at you and say it. You melt my heart. You had a rough tummy this past month and were struggling to go #2. But I think we've got it under control now. (Knock on wood!) You love sitting in your high chair and have really mastered eating "puffs".  It took you a week but your hand/eye coordination is so much better.  You still could care less about the sippy cup with water.  Rather than drink it, you like to toss it on the floor and make one of us pick it up. Such a fun game for you! ;)  You have learned to really sit up well unassisted.  You are such a baby now- you just up and play with toys. So stinking cute.  You have started crawling this past week but only if you really want something.  Otherwise you are happy to just stay put.  You LOVE the water.  Bath time in your bath chairs is your favorite.  You splash, throw toys, and try your hardest to climb out of the seat. You just really want to be free in the water. (Scares me to death!) Speaking of water- you LOVED your first time in the pool. You are a natural! You may be part fish.  You favorite toy at the moment is your jumperoo.  You get some serious air and squeel like a banchee! 

I love you more and more each day princess!

Dear Hudson,

Aww my little Huddy Buddy.  You are such a love. 

You have turned into such a mover. Once you learned to crawl you became a streak.  We had to put up a play yard baby gate to keep you in "baby jail" because you are everywhere! You are fearless and scare me to death.  You are climbing and pulling yourself up everything (the crib, the couch, the tv unit, the exercauser,  the baby gate, etc.) You have already had a few goose eggs and have needed the boo-boo packs. I think you are braver than Reagan was at this age and that my friend is scary! You have already figured out how to sneak behind the baby gates and move he toy baskets so that you can crawl around it. We've had to lower the cribs because you love to stand up in them. Yikes.  You popped your first too this past month and have been chewing on everything. Including both your sister and your cribs!  After you left teeth marks all over them I got the teething guards. Better late than never!  I also got you guys some of those hippie amber teething necklaces. Let's see if those help! You have finally mastered eating puffs although we still find more in your clothes than in your tummy!  You love drinking water out of your sippy cup and are really good at it.   You still struggle sitting up by yourself unassisted and you move too fast to really try and practice it! You are getting "over" the jumperoo and the exercausers because you just want to crawl.

They are so lucky to have each other as best buddies already.

Twins 7 Month Update

Last week the babies turned 7 months.

Seriously.

Time can just slow down any moment now.

Not too much has changed from their 6 month update but I will try.

Food

The babies feeding schedule is as follows:

7:00 am - 6 oz bottle (3 oz breast milk, 3 oz formula)

11:00 am - oatmeal and baby food as well as a 4 oz bottle (2 oz bm, 2 oz formula)

2:00 pm -  6 oz bottle (3 oz breast milk, 3 oz formula)

5:00 pm rice cereal and baby food as well as a 4 oz bottle (2 oz bm, 2 oz formula)

8:00 pm 6 oz bottle (3 oz breast milk, 3 oz formula)

Harper has gotten so much better with her eating.  She actually enjoys the cereal and baby food now and likes to grab the spoon.  Hudson still loves everything you give him. He is one happy eater.

Diapers/Clothes

The babies are still wearing size 2 diapers.  And hopefully will be for a bit longer.  We have so many size 2 diapers that my mom bought before they were born! As for clothes, they are primarily wearing 6-9 month clothing, although they still can fit in some of their 3-6 month stuff if I need.  Most of Harper's clothes are hand-me-downs from my niece Charlotte.  I have gotten a few new things here and there but most of them are hers.  Hudson wears some of Reagan's old stuff but unfortunately the seasons were opposite.  So most of Reagan's 6-9 month stuff is long sleeved or winter wear.  He has a ton of onesies and such for around the house, but when it's time for an important outfit or something I have to go buy something new.  Remember last month I wrote about how I've been having the babies sleep in onesies? Well, now I'm back into long pjs. So we'll see.  We just have so many cute pajamas and I felt like it was a waste for them not to wear them.  Call me crazy.

Sleep

Both babies love sleeping in their sleep sacks.  It's crazy.  The minute you put them in it they relax and their eyes start to roll back.  It must be a security thing for them.  Precious.  They both love to cuddle with their lovies at night too.  Both babies tend to roll to their side and then move to their tummies to sleep now.  I think this is why they are sleeping better and more soundly.  Hudson had a great last week where he slept through the night each night! Wahoo.  A few rough nights this weekend for him, but he slept through the night last night.  Let's hope he's back!  They both go to sleep for the night at 8:30 pm and wake up around 7:00 am. They are getting a morning nap , an early afternoon nap, and a late afternoon nap as well.  

Health

Knock on the wood, the babies have been overall healthy.  Hudson has had a runny nose but nothing serious.  Thankfully they did not get the flu that we all had so bad! Still no teeth for either of the babies.  And I keep meaning to order those amber necklaces from Amazon for teething too. Just to be ready.  I've heard so many great things from you fellow bloggers about them! 

Dear Harper,

You continue to just brighten my days.  I love your happy smile.  But when you are serious, boy are you serious.  We can't get a smile out of you.  But when we do- it makes it all worth it.  

I love to watch you study the world around you. 

You have discovered how to hold yourself up in a push-up position.  It's crazy and scares me to death.  I'm so afraid you are going to look balance and face plant.  You love to get on your knees and rock back and forth.  You are really enjoying our new jumperoo and love to jump really fast. 

You are a talking machine.  You mainly say "Da-da-da" or "Ba-ba-ba" and occasionally I will get a "Ma-ma-ma", but I know you are just making sounds and not really connecting us to the words.

When you are crying, I often try to give you your binky and boy do you get mad.  You swat it away with such an attitude. Does the girl-diva-gene begin already?! :)

Miss Priss, I sure love you!

Dear Hudson,

You are still our happy little man.  You love to laugh and think you are pretty funny. I swear. Your laugh is one of the best noises I've ever heard.

I call you my little monkey because when I pick you up, you hang on exactly like a monkey would.  So cute.

You love to burrow your face in anything and everything. A blanket, a bib, a jammie. You must love the feeling.  

You are still grunting, not talking yet. Tonight Daddy said you sound just like Beavis and Butthead, not that you have any idea who they are! Way before your time!

You are such a Mama's boy.  The other night you were so worked up and upset and nothing Daddy did would calm you down.  We finally gave you may blanket and you held onto it tight.  My smell soothed you. Precious.

The Twins' at 6 Months

Six Months.

I am totally emotional just thinking about this.

Where have my little newborns gone?

They have been replaced by full-fledged babies who "talk" and move like crazy!

This month was a busy one and they kept up like champs.

With all the birthday parties and holidays, every weekend was busy.

And they were such troopers.

They are really such good babies and I appreciate it so much.

The run-down:

Food

They are both still eating 6 ounce bottles each feeding (still every 3 hours during the day). Each bottle has 1/2  breast milk and 1/2 formula.  I'm not quite sure what is going on with my milk supply but it is starting to slow down this week. So I've started back up eating oatmeal every day for breakfast and pumping 5 times a day (kill me now). Hopefully it kick-starts the milk flow again. 

We started rice cereal this week and the jury is still out. Hudson liked it the first few days but today wanted nothing to do with it.  Harper has hated it from the get-go. Her faces have been pretty amazing.  One of my childhood best friends is a pediatrician so I grilled her all about eating/feeding this past week.

Diapers/Clothes

They are both wearing size 2 diapers.  I have put away most of their 0-3 mo. clothes but Hudson still wears some of the 0-3 month shorts. They fit. Don't judge! The rest of their clothes right now are 3-6 months.  I pulled out their 6-9/6-12 month but it seems so huge! They have stopped wearing long jammies at night and have moved into onesies instead. It was just getting too hot in our house to be so bundled. Good news is we have 1 million onesies and I rarely dress the twins in them. Bad news is the footie jammies are soooooooooo much cuter! 

Sleep

Harper has been sleeping in her sleep sack for awhile now and Hudson started regularly sleeping in it this week. Yay! No more swaddle! :)  Harper has discovered how to flip and sleep on her belly at night and she LOVES it.  I lay her down on her back and she cuddles with her lovey and then turns on her side and is flipped onto her belly in no time with her hand by her face. Melt. My. Heart.  The babies' last feeding is usually 8pm and then lay down by 9pm. Harper is sleeping through the night and Hudson is still waking up most  nights to be soothed or put back in our bed. Our pediatrician told me today that he for sure knows that I will come and get him, so he knows to cry for me. I need to just bite the bullet and let him figure it out on his own. Wish me luck.

Health

They both had tiny bouts with pink eye this month ( I think ). I didn't take them to the Dr. but recognized the crusties in their eyes. I had drops from when Reagan had it so gave them some. I never saw pink in the eye or rubbing , but used my mommy-judgement. Hope it was right! Haha.

Dear Harper,

You are weighing 14 lbs 8 oz and have dropped down into the 16th percentile. You are still healthy and have some meat on your bones though! The doctor wasn't worried. Your length has stayed the same since last appointment and you are now in the 40th percentile. The doctor was pleased with your strength and your pleasant demeanor. She could tell that you were a good baby for your Momma!

You are my little princess. You hear my voice and your smile goes from ear to ear. It just melts my heart. You follow me with your eyes all around the room/house and laugh whenever we make eye contact. Such a lover. You are seriously so happy. But I should clarify. You are happy with us, your family.  You are incredibly serious with everyone else. We will be at the store and random people come up to talk and coo to you guys. Hudson perks up and plays immediately but you are so reserved. You just stare and study at the person and they usually give up.  

Your favorite person in the world is still your brother Reagan. He loves to "babysit" you for pennies. He calls your Harps McGarps and you giggle non stop. 

Your hair is finally starting to grow. And your twin brother sure has noticed. He likes getting a handful of your hair and yanking. He learned from you my dear. You have been doing this for months to him.

You love to study everything. I will catch you staring at a toy, your fingers, your clothes, etc. rotating it, examining it, and touching every part of it. 

You like your binky but don't need it. You love your lovie and cuddle up with it when you sleep. Your favorite toys are stuffed animals and dolls that you can suck or chew on. 

I love the noises you make. Especially your "sighs". You make a sighing noise a lot these days- totally like "whoa is me". It cracks us up. When you get excited you giggle and laugh so hard. Sometimes you will be crying because you are hungry and I can't get your bottle to you fast enough. All of the sudden your crying will turn into laughter. It is crazy. You just can't help giggling. 

While your brother has been rolling over longer, you have made up for lost time. This last week and a half you have loved rolling and playing on your belly.  You are doing really well with sitting in the "tripod" but still need assistance from me or the Boppy pillow.

I have loved watching you grown and change Miss Harper.

Dear Hudson,

You are weighing 15 lbs. 8 oz. and are in the 9th percentile. You seem like a big boy to me, but I guess you are still a little peanut! Like your sister, the doctor wasn't worried. You look great.  You are 26 inches long and have just barely slipped by your sister in height. The doctor was so amazed with your strength and you much you move. She loves your happy personality and always comments on how you are such a ladies man.

You continue to be my happy, little buddy. I swear. You make everyone who sees you fall in love. From strangers at the store, family members, even your doctor. You have everyone wrapped around your little finger.  You continue to be a flirt and love to smile. 

You are a mover. You NEVER sit still. Whether it be on the carpet playing, on the changing table, or in your crib. you roll, scoot, just plain move. You are definitely a "Momma's Boy". Sometimes you are just crying so hard  and poor Daddy has tried everything. But you just want your Mommy. Once you are in my arms you stop. My little lover! You love to laugh at your sister. Harper will often just "talk" and grab for your hands. And you just giggle, giggle, giggle at her. It's precious. I hope you always love her this much. 

You love playing. Whether it be in the exercauser or on the floor with toys, you love to bang and make noise. You also love to swing though. It's probably one of your favorite parts of the day. Your new favorite thing to do is play peek-a-boo. You cover your face with your lovie and I say "Where's Hudson?". You then rip it off and I say "Peek-a-boo". You laugh and smile so hard. It's precious.

You crack me up during feedings. You seem to like your privacy as you always cover your face with your bib! It's so funny.  You are also trying really hard to hold your bottle. Pretty soon you'll be feeding yourself buddy!

You still grunt more than make other noises. Sometimes it's hard to tell if you are angry or just playing. Most often you are playing and making crazy animal-like-grunting sounds. So bizarre. But that's you! Your favorite position is to be on your hands and knees and rocking.  You want so badly to crawl. But I'm not rushing it! Stay my little baby a little bit longer!
