Day 2 of Fall Break

Having a toddler can be hard. Really hard. Today was a perfect example.
We started the day with a toddler class at the library. (My sweet sister Meg decided to join us). They have all of us sit in a large circle and do rhymes and stories. The teacher kept telling Reagan to go and sit with his mommy, but he ignored her and walked around the circle . Then it was time for musical instruments. Reagan proceeded to walk to all of the other children and take their instruments saying "mine" over and over. I was mortified. I went to retrieve the instruments and Reagan threw himself on the floor screaming. Holy tantrum. I turned even more red.

Reagan with one of those stupid instruments.

We left and decided to take Reagan to get his hair cut. He was pretty well behaved until it was time to leave. The hair cutters has a play side where Reagan proceeded to grab all of the Thomas trains (while saying that hideous word "mine) and booked it for the door. We got the trains away which of course led to more fits.

Getting his hair cut and watching Elmo.
It seems so much shorter to me! But he is still a cutie.

We came home, had lunch, and Reagan took a much needed nap.

After the nap we ran lots of errands (Jarrod's to get my rings cleaned, Hobby Lobby, Walmart, Lakeshore, and Target) which you know were all filled with "mine, mine, mine". I don't know where this started. Probably his preschool. But I HATE it. It is so embarrassing. I don't know how to stop him from saying it.
Any advice?
Thanks for letting me vent.
I still love him more than anything,
but gosh he is already getting into the "terrible twos" at 18 months! Help!

Tuesday's Top Two

This week Taylor asked us to share our two favorite areas in our homes.

We spend most of our time in our "great room". Our living room, dining room, and kitchen are all pretty much one huge space. But I love how open it is and how if I am in the kitchen I can still be apart of everything that is going on. Here are some pictures:

Day 1 of Fall Break

After a fun weekend, I didn't have to wake up for school. Yahoo!
I still got up at the same time, but it was nice knowing I could lounge around and catch up on some episodes of Keeping up with the Kardashians. (Love those girls, but can't believe Kourtney wanted to get preggo again with that jerk!.... Moving on...)

Reagan and I drove to the dr. for his 18 month check up.

Here are some details:
He weighed 28 lbs (78th percentile).
He measured 34 in (90th percentile).

So , he gained 2 lbs and 2 inches in 3 months.

The dr was really impressed with his social skills and how active he was. He saw football in our little boy's future (music to Nick's ears!) I got him a flu shot but he didn't need any vaccines at this appt which was a plus. After a Buzz sticker was given to my little Toy Story fanatic, we were on our way.
We then drove downtown to meet Nick at his work. I haven't brought Reagan to his work ever, so the ladies he works with were getting quite antsy to see him in real life. Reagan ran all around the office and even started dancing when a circle of the ladies formed...he is such a ham.

Nick then took us to lunch at Macayos. Yum! I love me some Mexican food!

Then Reagan and I drove home for naptime.
After naptime we ran some errands and ended up at the park for a little fun.
Reagan had a ball swinging and sliding. It was so interesting to see all the moms that were hanging out at the park. Being a working mom I feel like I never see/hear this. They were talking about all of the Halloween activities around our neighborhood. It kind of made me wish I were a part of something like this. I really need to be better about reaching out to other moms in my area. Anyway. It was a great first day of break. Happy Fall!

Boys will be boys...

Yesterday we attended another going away party for our friend Johnny.
One of my sorority sisters threw it at her house and we had a great time.
Here are some pictures!

A bunch of Nick's fraternity brothers and Reagan.
Reagan and Johnny. Such buddies.

Jessica (the hostess) with Reagan and Johnny.

Nick and I with Johnny.

Reagan with Vince.

Alli, Johnny, and I.
Joe and Reagan exploring the backyard.
It was so funny to see these boys who used to be wild, drunken, frat boys become such sweet uncles to Rea. They all took such good care of him and really loved playing with him. It was the best! Hope you all had a great Saturday!

Little of this and that..

First of all... Whooo Hoooo!! I am officially on Fall Break.
I had a busy week with parent teacher conferences. They went well. I had all but one show up and it was wonderful to be able to connect with parents and share success stories. I now have a week off and Im super excited!
I have been doing lots of reading lately.
Remember how I wrote about trying audio books? Well, I have since fallen in love! I have listened to 3 books on my drives to and from work and it is great! (Big Girl, Nights of Rodanthe, and The Lucky One) It takes some getting used to the one voice doing all of the characters... especially since 2/3 of these have been Nicholas Sparks southern books..... but I eventually get sucked in. Of the 3, The Lucky One has been my favorite. I am still checking out books from the library, and their selection of audio books is definately limited to older releases.

Do you have any recs of older books that are "must reads"?

I also continue to check out regular books as well. I had two friends reccomend the Nora Roberts "Bride Quartet" so I started reading them. I have read the first one, and have the second one sitting on my end table. I am currently reading the second book by Lauren Conrad (dont laugh!) They are actually really enjoyable. Totally similar to The Hills.

What are you reading? Anything good to recomend?

Reagan is becoming an avid reader like his Mommy.... Here is a cute picture that Nick took of us.I love that Reagan LOVES to read!

Party Saturday!

Today was a day full of parties! (FYI Picture overload!!)
This morning we went to a place called Bounce Jungle to help Jacob celebrate his 3rd birthday party. Reagan was a little too small to do all of the activities but one of the nice teachers assigned to this party was kind enough to take Reagan on everything.
Reagan had the best time. He was such a wild man and was so fearless.
Here are some pictures from the party!

The sweet girl who took care of Reagan.

Wheeeee!!
Our hosts and friends, Doug, Jacob, and Kate

Happy Birthday Jacob!
After this party we came home from naps and woke up in time to get ready for the next party! Our friend Johnny is moving to Cali to be in the Navy. His family threw a surprise party for him tonight and we drove out to help them celebrate. Johnny was really surprised and it was great to see old friends.

Surprise!

Needless to say we will all sleep well tonight! Hope you all had a great Saturday!
