Week in Review

Another week has come and gone!
I swear- this pregnancy is flying by!

Here is a little bit of what we were up to.

Monday

Reagan went to my mom's house and I went through some serious "nesting".  I did laundry, put the baby shower gifts away, re-organized the kids' bathroom, etc.

fyi- not me

Tuesday

Reagan and I went to a new friend's house for a play date.  Reagan and Rylan went to swimming lessons together this summer and his mom is such a sweet girl , we knew we wanted to hang out again. The boys played hard and we were able to talk "mom talk". She has a newborn as well- so it was great to pick her brain. I swear, I can't remember the newborn stage for the life of me!

After the play date I dropped Reagan off at my mom's so I could go home and rest.

Wednesday

I had an ultrasound appointment. It took forever and was such a pain (literally) because they could not get the babies to hold still for the stress tests at all.  They needed like 20 minutes of heartbeats monitored for the babies, but they seriously couldn't get them for more than like 2 minutes before they move.  All the while I am supposed to be lying on my back- which is nothing short of painful for me. Awesome. But enough of my complaining. My fluids looked good and the babies looked good.  Oh yes. And Harper had flipped again- back to breech. Crazy girl is definitely going to be a pistol.

fyi- again, not me. Picture this with one more strap and thingy attached.

Thursday and Friday

Reagan went to preschool and I literally stayed in bed all day. I wasn't feeling too hot. I've been having really bad stomach pains and I am exhausted. I haven't felt this tired since the beginning of the pregnancy. Thank goodness I am able to sleep and don't have to be working or chasing around Rea Rea. I wonder if things are    "starting".  I read 2 twin books and have been taking notes like a good little student.

Yep- these are the books on my nightstand.

Friday night I went to my friend Sarah's house.  We had a little girls night and it was great just to be surrounded by girlfriends and laugh. We all definitely need those nights.

This weekend I plan on just vegging some more.  Nick has a test this afternoon so he's been at the library studying all morning.  Reagan and I went to the pool (so he could play and I could feel weightless) and I can not wait for nap time! I am going to try and get ahead with a few blog posts for next week as well as my first giveaway.

What's been going on...

This time at school is pretty crazy!
Next week is our last week so I (like so many of you teachers) have been updating cumulative files, finishing report cards, getting our kids sorted for their second grade teachers, etc.  I've been taking down my room and boxing up my loot.  I need to finish my class slideshow and figure out sub plans for the beginning of the year... still so much to do!

This week was a fun week for the kids and teachers as we did our Fairy Tale unit.
I didn't take a single picture. Boo.
But if you are interested, here is the link  and link of what we did last year.
The kids have an absolute blast learning about and comparing the various fairy tales as well as the fun projects that go along with it.

Today I spent the day some friends as we celebrated Kelli's baby girl Avery.
Our friend Kate hosted the shower and we all had a great time!

Funny story- before I left for the shower Reagan asked me where I was going. I told him "I'm going to Kelli's baby shower."  He left the room and came back, saying, "Mama. Me look in the shower and Kelli and baby no there!" Haha. I forget how literal kids are.

When I got home from the shower Reagan and I went swimming.
This little guy loves the water!
Swim lessons start back up in 2 weeks and I'm excited to see him learn more this summer.

What a weekend!

This weekend was crazy.
Aside from all of the scariness and stress of my mother in law, we had a lot going on.

Thursday night Reagan and I went to dinner with my sister and some friends. We got to meet Angie's beautiful baby Aubrey for the first time. Reagan was in love.

I ended up bailing on my sweet friend Holly's (love ya girl) birthday dinner Friday night and Nick and I had a movie marathon to get our minds off of things.  Here's what we saw:
 Entertaining but cheesy.
I liked it. Although Nick Cage is still a joke.
Totally weird but I stayed awake.

Saturday we watched Cooper (my baby-brother-in-law) during Lisa' surgery.  We took the boys to the railroad park and they had a blast.

That night we went to tailgate with friends before the ASU/UA game.  Some great friends flew in for the weekend for my sister's baby shower (more on that later).  The ASU/UA game is always a big rivalry and thus a big tailgate. We had a lot of fun pre-gaming-it.

The game on the other hand. We wont go there.  It didn't end so pretty.
Sunday, I threw my sister her baby shower. I will do a seperate post on that!
Happy Monday loves!!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

Happy Wednesday!
Tonight I'm linking up with Jamie for her weekly lovefest.

(1) I'm loving that I only have 4 more work days until Thanksgiving vacay!
I sooo need a little break. Spending time with family is just what the doctor ordered!
(Us last Thanksgiving)
(2) I'm loving that this weekend is my sister's baby shower. I've had a lot of fun with this theme and I'm excited to see how it turns out!
(Yes. She may kill me for this picture. But, let's see if she really reads my blog.)

(3) I'm loving my sweet boy. Here are some funny stories for the week.
a) He has learned the phrase "hot mess" and uses it daily in conversation. For example, looking through old pictures of his 1st birthday he said "Uh Oh Mama. Baby Rea Rea was a hot mess!"

b) I picked him up from school today and was talking with his teacher, looking at his daily note. She was explaining how some kid pushed him and he got a big goose-egg on his forehead. But my child is so used to being the boy in trouble, he came running over when he saw us talking and said, "No! Rea Rea no hit!! Rea Rea good day!"  haha
(This was from a different injury. Don't judge. Boys fall a lot.)

c) He has seen me working on school work a lot each night, so he is really into "doing work".  He walks around with a pencil and notepad and furiously writes. Hilarious.

(4) I'm loving that my Erin Condren planner has been shipped. Nerd Alert.
(5) I'm loving last weekend.
We attended a wedding. Nick was a groomsman and I had a great time visiting with all my old boys!

We also had my family's anual Chili dinner.
Delicious food and lots of laughing.

What are you loving this week?

This week....

This week was another busy one (really though, when are they not!?) Our reading anthology story was "All that Corn" so we learned all about how corn goes from the field to our house. We usually tie in a lot of farming during our social studies this week but with all of my ELD requirements and my focus on math it was really hard to fit much in this week!
Here is what we did though:
On Monday I had an ear of corn in my mystery box and the kids had to make guesses as to what it was (oral language practice). Then we passed it around and the kids got to touch the corn, peel the husk, and examine the kernals. This was very cool for my firsties because only 1 of them had ever seen an ear of corn before (crazy, right?).

We made farm crop flipbooks.
We ended the week with talking about the best thing you can do with kernals of corn- pop them! I've done this for years , but got the brilliant idea of popping it on the floor with the kids from Rachel, my friend and former student teacher. The kids went absolutely bizerk having the kernals fly out. Love it.

Last night was our school district's annual Duel in the Desert. It's a fun way to unwind with your friends and get some school spirit going. Unfortunately everyone (including myself) was exhausted and it ended up kinda being a bust for our school. Only a handful of us went and boy were we ready to get points and head home!
Today we went to a birthday party for one of my oldest and sweetest friends Megan's son. He turned 4 and celebrated it "Superhero Style" at Peter Piper Pizza. It was fun to catch up with her and some friends I hadn't seen in awhile and the boys had a blast playing games and eating pizza and cake!

Thanks for having us Megan! Now... off to the grocery store to prepare for tomorrow's big Gender Reveal Party!! xxoo
