Need appetizer ideas for Sunday?

I've never done a food post before, but I thought with Superbowl Sunday coming up, I would give you guys a few of my favorite go-to appetizers.  As you may remember, I am NOT a cook.  I only make a few things (that are very easy).  So if they are easy enough for me, anyone can make them!

Buffalo Chicken Dip

I make this at pretty much every party or social gathering we have.  It is always requested and looked forward to. If definitely has a kick, but we can't stop eating it.

Ingredients:
3 cans of 10 oz. cooked chicken , drained
2 8 oz. packages of creamed cheese, softened
2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
1 bottle of Franks Red Hot sauce
1 1/2 cups Ranch dressing

It's so easy!
Just combine all ingredients in the crock pot for 3 1/2 hours.

I serve with nacho chips.

 My Mom's Meatballs

My mom has been making these meatballs for as long as I can remember. People always request her recipe and talk about her meatballs. It's hilarious. Let me tell you why. It's so easy, it's stupid. She should probably pretend it's some really secret recipe that she concocted.

Ingredients:
a package of frozen meatballs
1 bottle of Heinz Chili Sauce
1 jar of grape jelly
Salt and Pepper to taste

Again- it's so easy!
Just combine all ingredients in the crock pot for 2 hours prior to serving.

My Aunt Marty's Pizza Dip

My Aunt introduced me to this recipe years ago and when I make it, people love it!

Ingredients:
8 oz. package of cream cheese, softened
1 jar of your favorite pizza sauce
1 can sliced black olives
1 T minced onion
sliced pepperoni
mozzarella cheese, grated

Spray a pie dish with Pam.
Spread the softened cream cheese evenly in the dish.
Add remaining ingredients in order shown above.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.

I serve with those Baked Ritz Chips

What are your go-to appetizers?

Sunday Social- Food Edition

1. If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Mexican Food!
It's a good thing I live in Arizona!

2. What's your guilty pleasure/comfort food?
I love desserts.
Pretty much anything really.
My go-to's when I'm home are cookies and milk but I could eat frozen yogurt daily!
 Love. Love. Love.

3. What's the weirdest/craziest thing you've ever eaten?
Probably rattlesnake.  We used to take out of state friends and family to a western place that served it as an appetizer. It seemed like an "Arizona thing". I can remember thinking it tasted like chicken- pretty bland.

4. What foods do you avoid at all costs?
Fish.
I like sushi (the really simple/not-sushi-ish kind).
But that's about it.
I wish I liked it because it's supposed to be super healthy for you.
But it grosses me out.

5. What meal reminds you of your childhood?
Mac and Cheese with a side of green beans.

6. Share one of your favorite recipes and the story behind it.
I am soooo not a cook.
And everyone in my family knows it.
But one thing that I do know how to make is strawberry/ pretzel salad

(except for the one school pot luck where I totally added WAY too much sugar)

And people actually request it at family functions.
Who knew?

There really isn't a story. I think I originally tasted it at a school potluck and thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. So boom. I made it.

Christmas Cookie Exchange

Sunday I hosted my annual cookie swap.
This was our 5th year doing it and like always, it was a delicious day!

I invited friends to bake 5 dozen cookies and bring them over.  We do a little taste-test, gab, and then everyone gets to take home some of everyone's cookies. I know all of our kids and hubbies LOVE this day each year as much as we do!

The spread this year... there were 14 different kinds.
These girls are such good bakers!
Above were mine- Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles.
Not as good as the ones I made last year, but I got a few votes.
Above is the cookie that won "Overall Best Cookie".
It was a cherry and white chocolate shortbread cookie.
Simply delicious!
Above is the cookie that won for "Most Creative".
It was a Peppermint Whoopie Pie. And Lordy these must have taken Megan forever!

Sorry for the lack of pictures! I was feeling pretty under the weather during the party and wasn't feeling it! If you want to see pictures from some of my past cookie swaps- check out here and here
