The Twins at 5 Months

I simply can not believe my babies are 5 months already!
I know every mom says this, but geesh- time is flying by.

Getting their pictures together is getting more and more difficult.

Most pictures of them together tend to look like the one below.
Ha Ha
It kills me.

This month has been a big one of the twinkies.

They had their first sicknesses - just cold/cough- nothing serious but it was sad never the less. They got to know the hospital-bulb-snotsucker very well. I bought the Nose Freida too (but honestly I think the bulb works just as well!) There was a good week there when I traveled around the house with the Boogie Wipes, Saline drops, and the snot sucker all in tow. The babies couldn't sleep because of their lack of breathing so we moved them back into our room and they "slept" in their rock and plays.  We had the warm humidifier set up and usually ended up with both babies back in our bed. They are finally feeling better thank the Lord.

They are both still very much into exploring each other.
And not always in a nice way.
I will often find one grabbing the other by the ear or nose and yanking as hard as he/she can.
They still love to hold hands but it often ends up with one giving the other too hard of a squeeze.

We have moved both babies up into size 2 diapers.
Thank the Lord.
Since my mom had 2,000 size 2 diapers stored in her house.
At least we don't have to buy any diapers for awhile!
My mother is amazing in case you already didn't know.

They are both still eating 6 ounces per bottle.  That's still 1/2 formula and 1/2 breast milk. They are eating at 6:30am, 9:30am, 12:30pm, 3:30pm, 5:30pm, and 8:30pm (for the most part). Sometimes if a nap lasts longer I will push back a feeding.  I'm pumping 4 times a day (during the first 3 feedings and the last one).  I'm producing about 30 ounces of milk a day, which seems like a lot to me, but is still not enough to give both babies only breast milk.

They are wearing mostly 3-6 month clothes (because I was ready for new things) but they still fit in and often wear their 0-3 month clothes. I just bought some 6-9 month things at the Old Navy baby sale for summer. I can't even imagine them that big!

Both of the babies seem so big to me already.
But in perspective to Reagan at their age and other babies, they are still quite tiny!
(Reagan at 5 months was 18 lbs!)

Dear Harper,

While you are still the serious one of the two, you definitely have your smiley moments.
I just live for those.
Your eyes are so gorgeous and your lashes bat ever so softly.
It is the sweetest thing.
You absolutely light up when you see your brother Reagan or your Daddy.
Melts my heart.

You are our little investigator.
You love to pick up toys, hit their buttons, turn them all around and watch them very closely.
You love grabbing my fingers and examining each one.

You don't seem to have much interest in rolling around the floor but you do like to scoot on your back.

You love grabbing our neck and faces.
You often get a hold of the skin on my neck and pull (ouch!)
You also pull Daddy's beard hair (ouch!)
You're probably just exploring!

When held, you are very content and still.
Almost like a little doll.
People are amazed at how you sit so nicely, whereas your brother is a huge wiggle worm.

You still like to "talk".
Mainly making "l" and "m" sounds.

You still drool like a crazy person.
You also put every toy into your mouth.
I often wonder if you are going to be teething soon?!

Since there is no Dr. appointment this month, we weighed you at home last night and you have gained just over a pound since your last appointment.
(Not sure how accurate our scale is, but it's a good guess!)

Dear Hudson,

You are our little ham.
You LOVE to smile and giggle.
You stare at us and "talk" until we look at you.
And once we do, you are smiling from ear to ear!
So precious.

You are everywhere.
A few weeks ago you started rolling over from your back to your belly and back and forth. You now do "rollie - pollies" (as Reagan calls it) all across the floor. We definitely have to keep our eye on you. Our house is mainly tile or wood but we do have rugs.  You roll off the rugs often and have a tendency to conk your head. Poor guy. Something tells me you are going to have goose eggs like your brother did. You are also "swimming/scooting" on your belly.  You haven't figured out how to use your arms and legs but you are flopping all over the place. You move quite a bit.  I have a feeling you will be crawling before too long!

When you are tired you rub your eyes with your hands and your lovey.
You also play with your hair when you're tired (like Mama!).

You are always moving. Even when being held.  You try to flip out of peoples arms and try to climb up their shoulders. Crazy I tell you!

You still make a lot of noise.
Your "talking" still tends to be grunts and animal-like noises.
It's hilarious. Especially when we are in public.

I love how you drink your bottles with your hands behind your head- such a Joe Cool.

You are still waking up every night and end up in our bed.
I have such a soft spot for you.
I just can't handle your crying.
 I cave every.single.time.

Since there is no Dr. appointment this month, we weighed you at home last night and you have gained a pound since your last appointment.
(Not sure how accurate our scale is, but it's a good guess!)

(I mean really- how perfectly does this picture sum Hudson up?)

What I'm Loving Wednesday

It's been awhile since I've joined Jamie for her weekly "What I'm Loving Wednesday" link-up.

And since I've been pretty MIA on my blog lately, I thought today would be a good time to join up.

I'm loving that all 3 of my babies are finally starting to feel better.
This cold/cough has been kicking everyone's tush.
Yesterday I took them all on a bunch of errands and they were all so good.
I'm not going to lie- I felt like a rockstar.

(the kids after church on Sunday)

I'm loving our caterpillars have turned into chrysalis this week.
Reagan is loving watching their metamorphosis!

I'm loving Reagan.
I can't believe my sweet baby is almost 4.
He has been such a helper lately and I really appreciate him so much.

(Reagan before he went to see the play "Click Clack Moo, Cows that Type")

I'm loving my little babies.
I can't believe they are 5 months today!
They are changing so much- I will do a 5 month old blog post soon!

(These monthly pictures are getting harder to capture!)

I'm loving my handsome hubs.
He has been working so hard at work each day and comes home at night and is such a great day. I'm so thankful because I'm definitely ready for some relief when he gets home!

(Nick trying to get two sick, fussy babies to sleep while I got Reagan ready for bed.)

I'm loving that March is so close!
Such a wonderful time for our family.
(St. Patrick's Day, the twins' dedication at Church, Reagan's trip to Disneyland, a ton of family member birthdays, and Easter!)

I'm loving that I've got all of the family Easter outfits purchased and ready.
I've also decorated the house for Easter already.
Now I just need to get going on Easter basket goodies!

(I made a new Easter wreath.)

I'm loving that I've started working on Reagan's birthday party.
Invitations printed and decor is purchased.
Just need to get my craft on.
Jake and the Neverland Pirates in our theme!

I'm loving what I've been reading this week:

(I'm really enjoying Tumbleweeds right now- check it out!)

(I'm reading this book and it's devotional to get some daily scripture into my life. I've always had a short fuse and find myself going from 0-100 with things. This book is showing me to control my anger, take deep breaths, and practice patience.)

What are you loving this week?

It's Ok Thursday

Its Ok Thursdays

Today I'm linking up with Brunch with Amber for the first time for It's Okay Thursday!

It's Okay

.... to be completely obsessed with the Jodi Arias trial.
.... that I stay in my pajamas all day (unless I need to leave the house).
.... that I shower right before Nick gets home from work. At least I shower at all.
... that I'm surprisingly okay with co-sleeping with the twins. I totally would if Nick would let me.
... that I'm a few days behind on my cleaning schedule.
The tubs and toilets can wait. I've got sick babies!
... that I'm loving being a SAHM but I'm really looking forward to going back to work in the fall.
... that I'm totally nervous for interviewing for a new job. It's been 7 years!
... that I'm so mad at myself for going in for a hair trim last month and came out with 6 inches cut off.
... to be jealous/sad that Reagan is going to Disneyland without me.
... to get emotional daily that this is the last time we will have kids this small in our family.
... to wish I had the will power to not crave and eat sweets all day - no will power.
... that I'm obsessed with Insta Gram. Amber told me I would be. She was right!

Trendy Tot Tuesday

Today I'm linking up with my sweet blog friend Megan for her new weekly link-up for Trendy Tot Tuesday. It's a place to share about our kids' fashions. Make sure you go check it out to see how fellow bloggers dress their little ones.

A few random things about my kids' fashion:

1. I've always dressed Reagan pretty preppy.

2. I tend to dress our family pretty matchy-matchy.

3. Yes. The twins will probably wear matching stuff until they won't let me anymore!

How do you dress your little ones?
Link up and share!

Our Weekend

Hi guys!

I hope that you all had a wonderful 3 day weekend!

Here is a little recap of ours.

Friday

I went to Reagan's school for his class Valentines party.
Nothing like a class full of sugar-ed up 4 year olds!
But I was happy to be there to celebrate with Rea and his friends.

Here is Reagan and one of his best buddies Maya.

Here were his Valentines this year.
Thank you Teacher Wife

Here is our Reagan's loot.

That night Harper started really feeling cruddy.
Poor girl caught the cold that's been going around! :(

Saturday

We got up and met Nick's Dad and Step-Mom and little brother at the zoo.
It was seriously the most gorgeous day.
And it was like all of the animals felt it too.
Every animal was out and active and very close.

Cooper and Reagan are such little buddies.

Hudson and I

Grandma Lisa and Harper

Saturday night was r.o.u.g.h!
Both babies had colds and couldn't sleep because they couldn't breathe.
Breaks my heart.

Sunday

Because Saturday night was so rough and the babies were feeling so crappy, we skipped out on church.  We had a lazy , lazy morning. Around noon I decided to take Reagan and get out of the house.  I left Nick home with both sick babies (he's super dad I tell ya!) and Reagan and I had a date. It was so fun. We definitely need to do that more often.

I told him we could go wherever he wanted for lunch.
He chose Dunkin Donuts.

We then went to Buy Buy Baby for some snot-sucking goodies for the babies, Barnes and Noble for some new books, and the grocery store for dinner. We sang to his favorite song at the moment about 5x in the car (Moves like Jagger). It was perfect.  When we got home we played in the backyard and re-arranged some patio furniture. A great day.

That night on the other hand. Phew. Two sick babies is tough.
I think Nick and I got 2 hours of sleep.

Monday

Nick's Mom and Grandma came over to babysit and spend time with the kids.
Reagan was so excited to get some one on one attention with them and Nick and I appreciated lunch by ourselves (at a sit down place- wow!) and went to the grocery store. It was so nice!

We spent the afternoon playing in the backyard and taking care of babies.

They pretty much want to be held 24/7 and aren't sleeping or eating.

We've spent the night rotating between rocking, having steam showers, sucking boogers out of noses, and entertaining Reagan. Phew. I'm reading for bed. Please Lord let everyone sleep tonight!

Nick goes back to work tomorrow and Reagan will be with my Mom.
I'm hoping I have enough cuddles for the both of my sweet twinkies.

Our Valentines Day 2013

I hope you all had a fantastic Valentines Day.
I've loved looking through all your photos.
Dang, your babies are all so beautiful - especially in their Valentine clothes!

Here are a couple other Valentine outfit pics of my sweethearts from earlier in the week:

Our Valentines Day was pretty uneventful.
Nick worked, Reagan went to school, and the babies and I hung out at home.

But we celebrated as a family together that night.

I decorated our bedroom door and Reagan's bedroom door that day to surprise them that evening.
They were both "heart attacked"!

Nick was pretty tired from work and didn't get too big of a kick out of it.
Eh, husbands.

But Reagan was overjoyed and reminded me that this was the reason I do these things.
His happiness gives me such joy!

I had also decorated the table with goodies that had come in the mail and been delivered for our little ones for Valentines Day. My family and friends are so thoughtful.

Thanks to Aunt Meg for the toys and coloring goodies for the kids.
Thanks to Mimi for the new books and cupcakes.
Thanks to Grammy Sylvia for the cards.
Thanks to Great Grammy Sylvia for the cards.
Thanks to Jaime for the card and headbands for Harper!

I got each of the kids a little bag with some Valentine goodies as well.

Reagan was over the moon!

Nick and I agreed to not get anything for one another other than cards this year.
I'm not going to lie- I was a little bummed I didn't even get flowers, but I guess he took our rules seriously. I think this is the first Valentines Day since we've been together that he didn't get me flowers!

After we opened up presents and cards we had a fun little dinner.

We had heart shaped pancakes with all the toppings and pink, strawberry milk- yum!

We had delicious cupcakes from Gigi's for dessert.
Oh my word.
Heavenly.

The night ended with lots of kisses and cuddles with our sweet kids.

Happy Valentines Day!
